Around the corner from the main square, around the other corner from the river. Lovely bougie brunch cafe around the corner. Can't recommend highly enough, it was super.

A pleasing town, with attractive older buildings and plenty...
A pleasing town, with attractive older buildings and plenty of inviting restaurants. The history musueum offered worthwhile displays and the national transport musueum had an excellent man in charge, full of informative insights into much about his country (as well as the trains and boats).
The transport museum is, though, a long hot walk north of the city centre.

1. Basic table layout - uninvitingly shabby
2. Waiter service - unprofessional
3. Food not of a hotel/restuarant standard
4. Service - atrocious
5. No manager to assist with our complaints
Breakfast- OK but would never have thought we had to queue outside in the cold for a cup of morning coffee.
Hope the lovely canadian lady who we met on an earlier visit can read this to confront these failures, otherwise all her and husband's endeavour will eventually disintegrate.

We had a very pleasant stay.
We had a very pleasant stay. Communication was excellent and responses were always prompt. We arrived quite late, around 1 a.m., but the check-in process was very easy and straightforward, which we really appreciated.
The accommodation was very clean, comfortable, and nicely presented. We also appreciated the nice coffee machine and the coffee and tea provided, a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more comfortable.
The only drawback was an unpleasant musty/damp smell. Even though the place itself was very clean, there was a noticeable smell, possibly due to poor ventilation. We had to keep the door and windows open for a while to air the room out.
Apart from this issue, everything else was great, and we were very happy with our stay.

Ruse is a charming little city, at least the city center.
Ruse is a charming little city, at least the city center. I have visited several times and it is close to me, I live in Bucharest, Romania. I recommend the Elias Canetti square if you are interested in literature. Also recommend the restaurants Chiflika, Hacienda, Happy Bar & Grill and La Terrasa. The latter with a great view over the river. Close by is the old monastery built in a rock in Ivanovo, 26 km away. Ruse recommended for a 2-3 days stay. Note that now, August -26, the BGN is almost gone. All ATMs give Euros, but one can still pay with BGN in many places.
