Pousada J L was an incredible place to stay - our family would recommend it without hesitation! The staff was incredible and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The beach is right there with beautiful views and easy access. This was one of our favorite places to stay!

The room was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The garden was beautiful, filled with amazing orchids. The pousada is peaceful and quiet, and we felt very safe throughout our stay. The hosts, Jo and Vicente, along with all their staff, were kind and welcoming. They shared their delicious home-made lunch with us, gave excellent restaurant and tour guide recommendations, helped with currency exchange, and even lent us money when we didn’t have cash to pay our driver.

An Unforgettable Stay at a Truly Special Family Resort This place is simply amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt the genuine warmth that defines a true family-run resort. The wonderful owners, Sueli and Smile, welcomed us personally at reception—not with formalities or paperwork, but with heartfelt greetings that made us feel like old friends. Our room was already prepared, and Sueli herself walked us there, taking the time to explain every thoughtful detail. The room was cozy and comfortable, complete with a small but very convenient kitchen—perfect for a relaxed stay. The entire property is beautifully maintained, featuring lush green lawns, plenty of trees, a generously sized swimming pool, a billiard table, and even a ping pong table. And best of all—it’s right on the beach! You can enjoy complimentary use of kayaks and paddle boards, take a swim, or simply stroll along the shore of a stunning beach nestled in a picturesque lagoon. We were more than happy to spend three days there —it truly felt like a home away from home. Honestly, we could have stayed much longer and would return in a heartbeat!

The staff were amazing! They helped us arrange tours and reliable transport to Rio at the end of our stay....and even paid one of the operators when our cards were giving us issues on day (which was so kind). Breakfast was also fantastic! A combination of a small buffet and ordered items was provided.....basic, but hearty (made with love). The property has magnificent garden and a pool at the centre of it.....it's well shaded, and we spent one of our days just lying, reading and sleeping in their beautiful hammocks....its honestly a small piece of paradise! Well maintained bikes are also provided (for free) as an alterative to catching an uber for the 5min drive into the historic section of Paraty. The fact that this property was slightly outside the centre was a major plus for us, because we would enjoy the best of both paradise and touristy vibes :)
