Pousada Aquino Mar
Hotel in Paraty
Well situated in the Cabore district of Paraty, Pousada Aquino Mar is located a 15-minute walk from Jabaquara Beach, 1.2 miles from Praia do Cais and 1.2 miles from Pontal Beach. This pousada is 1.5 km from the old part of Paraty. For us, it was not a problem since we preferred to take a walk along the canal in the evenings to and from our favourite restaurants and pubs situated in the downtown area of Paraty. This is a very neat, new, well-maintained, and very clean pousada with a very welcoming staff. Air conditioning is available everywhere. Plugs are also available in the room (not near the bed, though!). The rooms are acceptable in size, with a large, comfortable double bed. Cleaning in the room and bathroom was done on a daily basis. Shower pressure was acceptable, and hot water was provided via an instant hot water electric generator (like we noticed in most of the pousadas in Brazil). Hot water at the sink is not available. We have asked for a room overlooking the rear courtyard since, on the roadside, the noise from the street would not be acceptable to us. Windows does not offer soundproofing in Brazil, as we have noticed in many pousadas; therefore, it would be good to carefully select your location. Flat 40" TV with already-available Netflix so that we could follow our favourite TV series. The Internet in the room on TV is via cable; therefore, everything played smoothly. Parking places are available in front of the pousada and away from city traffic. Security cameras monitor the property around the clock, and a pool inside Pousada's courtyard is also available and included in the price only for guests. A small but efficient fridge we had in the room. The property has its own back-up generator therefore in case of blackouts in the area everything is still runing smoothly autonomously. A big plus! In case you have forgotten to buy water or juices from outside, this pousada can sell you water and non-alcohol beverages.

We chose this place, because the rating for the location was 9.7 and for sure it is. It is amazingly beautiful place - beautiful mountains, peaceful ocean, cozy rooms with seashells used as part of the decoration everywhere. The boat trip that one can purchase from the Mar da Lua takes you to the true paradise beaches. We also chose the place as other guest were writing only great reviews about Mar da Lua owner Francisco. And for sure he deserved all of them - we wanted to organize one very special event for us there and he even gave a contact of his sister who helped to organize it for us. We are so grateful that Francisco allowed us to have a small family wedding there and so grateful to his sister who made it happen.

I want to live here! This place is gorgeous and the water is right outside your door. They have kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and bikes for guests to take and use any time.

Amazing structure, very welcoming, comfortable and clean. They have 4 pools with hot-tubes besides the private ones, an amazing restaurant, exceptional spa, game room that is not just for kids,sauna and a good gym, plus a burger joint so will please all tastes and styles.
