This location is perfect if you are exploring the Cabot Trail. Very easy to find. Christian was a wonderful host. He was there to greet us when we arrived and even invited us to join them for an evening with friends. We stayed in both available Chalets. The keys are kept in a lockbox so entry is very easy. The kitchen has a kettle, dishes, toaster, mugs, silverware and pots and pans. If you needed anything else Christian was there to help. It's instant hot water so that was great. The bathroom had a spacious corner shower. Towels and face cloths were provided as well as some shampoo and bodywash. There was a mini fridge with a small table and 2 chairs. Our chalet also had a full sized couch. The bed is up a ladder so not accessible for some so keep that in mind. Comfy bed and great view. There are no dressers for clothes storage so living out of luggage is the norm. Beach access is a little walk away. The beach isn't sandy but so many beautiful interesting rocks. There is a long ladder down to the beach so again, not accessible to everyone. Not a bad thing it is what it is. Even though it says off the grid, there is running water, drinkable water and electricity! Internet is spotty at best but it's like that all over the Cabot Trail. These are bunkies and not full sized cabins so space is limited. Something to keep in mind. Overall it was a wonderful stay and it was exactly what we needed. Everything was clean and tidy and well laid out for us. We would definitely return if ever back in the area.

Touring through the Maritimes I have deliberately looked for unconventional and quirky place to stay in beautiful places. Feeling very smug about this one - the Birch Plain Tower fits the brief ++. The location is remote but on the main Cabot Trail road and a vehicle is absolutely essential. The site has 4 cabins plus the Tower set in woodland bordering the sea with a short walk to a breath taking private beach. Very stoney - don't expect sand but beautiful and so peaceful. Ton, our host was very welcoming and helpful and cooked a fantastic breakfast for us - have the pannenkoeken, delicious! The tower itself is self contained with it's own facilities. It is above the comfort station for the other 4 cabins. I didn't realise this until we got there but it really wasn't an issue. It is the Rolls Royce of comfort stations and our fellow guests were very quiet and respectful of each other's space and privacy. The tower is an amazing structure, it's bijou but very well thought out and does feel a bit like staying in a tree house - exactly what I was after. Be assured the stairs to the sleeping area. although steep, are 'proper' stairs and not a ladder. We had such clear nights we kept the blinds open and watched the stars. Fantastic value for money. We had 3 nights in the Tower and were so sorry to leave. Magical place. Thank Ton & Yvonne. I really hope we'll be back one day.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this beautiful trailer. It is brand new, with everything you could possibly need already inside ( coffee, tea, dishes, kettle). There was a large, comfortable bed, and the view of the sea—especially at sunset—was simply breathtaking. The area is incredibly quiet and peaceful, offering a perfect escape from the city. I especially loved the patio with flowers and small lights, with a gas grill. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, even the mosquito spray was available .That was an easy check in and check out, we shouldn't have even seen the host personally That night was a little chilly and we turned on the fireplace in the trailer in the evening. However, there's also ventilation in case it's hot outside. And if you take a short walk or drive up the road, you'll find a perfect spot to take stunning photos of the coastline during sunset—it was one of the highlights of our stay. That was an interesting experience, We've never lived in the trailer before. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy, scenic, and well-equipped retreat on Cape Breton.

Fantastic location, well manicured landscape, comfortable bed and pillows, a home away from home. Lillian was exceptional, ensuring everything was set before our arrival and checking in during our stay that all was line with expectations. Couldn't have chosen a better spot. Highly recommended!!! 👌

Our stay here was exceptional, we entered our room and just went WOW! The view was phenomenal. The facilities were perfect. The outdoor, heated swimming pool was a lovely added extra to. Short drive to Baddeck. Baddeck, beautiful prom with comfy steamer chairs for anyone to sit relax and look over the water to the island opposite. I believe there is a small passenger ferry you can take across to the island for a lifeguards beach and a couple of hiking trails and a lighthouse. There was also a boat cruise off the pier and there was Alexander Graham Bell museum which was very interesting. Plus the most amazing ice cream shop on the high street. 10/10 visit

Beautiful spot very clean and cozy. The power went out due to a bad storm the lady who runs the place brought us up water and a lantern she was very helpful and pleasant so glad I found this spot we will be going back! Not many places allow pets it was nice to have the option to bring our dog sad so many places discriminate against pet owners

A lovely stay in a wooden cabin tucked into the forest. Cosy but comfortable with a communal kitchen that we really appreciated to save costs on meals in restaurants. A lovely walk to the beach and the most amazing pannekoek for breakfast and some of the best coffee on the island! Don't miss the breakfast in the Cafe!

Lots of interesting places to visit , everyone is super friendly and welcoming. On the way to Inverness, the beach is one of the best places. The lighthouse in Cheticamp isn’t worth the drive in the gravel road, and not the nicest lighthouse, there are many others.

We LOVED our accommodations, the quiet and the beach!

We LOVED our accommodations, the quiet and the beach! Most restaurant food was very good. Loved whale watching and the gondola. Would have like a continental breakfast as there were no restaurants within walking distance. Also, restaurants close too early and many ran out of food so decided to close! 150 people at the pizza place (because no place else was open with availability) on a Sunday wasn’t fun.

The staff are so nice and helpful.

The staff are so nice and helpful. Their restaurant on site was so convenient after a busy day, food was delicious. The beds are comfy. The grounds were nicely decorated with lots of places to sit to do some star gazing. The wifi can be spotty at times and is not their fault due to the area they are located. It is a beautiful and peaceful spot to stay surrounded by mountains. Very quiet. Loved our stay and will go back again.

Good spot for sunsets. Very small town off the Cabot Trail. Therefore very few restaurants. They also close early in the shoulder season so good to keep in mind. The main restaurant was Belles and it had a good selection on the menu. The lobster roll was okay and the seafood chowder good.

This was a unique communal camping experience but it is not, as they call themselves, a 4-star resort. It is definitely not for everyone and I would highly recommend more clarity on the Booking.com site. My review should be on there.

The Cabot trail is a must see! This time we drove it in a counter clockwise direction and it was spectacular! We ate at a diner in Margaree . The owners name is Roddie and he is so interesting to talk to! Food was fantastic! The only thing I’d avoid is the potholes in some of the roads! LOL!
