"There was more I wanted to see and do, but I had only 3 days. It's a great jumping off place for other towns, villages and sites in the area as well. If you love architecture, the picturesque, and some great atmospheric restaurants...Port Hope has it."

"A beautiful town with some spectacular houses. Loved the marina and the houses along the water. Next time we're there, I'd love to walk around the town and see the sights and the concert hall We arrived as the sun was setting and had to leave before noon the next morning"

I like the main street of Cobourg..

I like the main street of Cobourg..However, at 6pm on a Thursday, I found that several of the restaurants on the main street were closed which was a little disappointing. I ended up going to Metro Grocery store to buy my food...which actually worked out just fine.

A hidden gem!

A hidden gem! A perfect rural town set in bucolic countryside amazingly close to the 401 and Toronto. Delightful setting on the Trent River. Enough amenities (like restaurants) to accommodate tourists but not enough to spoil the rural characters of the town.

A bit of a homey town. I visited two pubs. One I walk out on, Royal Crown, the place was a bit to crass for my taste. I ended up at the Wings House. Nice place for a late night light meal or snacks.

The staff at Foodland went out of their way to help us .

The staff at Foodland went out of their way to help us . We were staying in a room that didn't allow cooking and no access to a oven ! So I asked at the Deli if they could help us by Heating ( cooking ) a Pizza for us which they did ! It saved us from traveling out of our way to find a Pizzeria and Spending more money than we had ! I wish to thank them because they didn't charge me Extra for heating up the Pizza . We might stop in town the next time we are passing through on the way to our camping grounds outside Hastings Ontario .

I grew up in Cobourg and loved it. Left to join the Army in 1978 and finally made it back to stroll down King Street and walk the beach again. Fabulous what the Marina has done for the place. It is still the great place I remember. M
