Amazing bay view from this beautiful characteristic building. Very good breakfast and very friendly and warm welcoming staff. Large garden in front of the hotel with many cozy places to sit. You could even watch the whales from the garden of the hotel. Nice clean rooms. Perfect location to do a lot of activities like whale watching or black bear spotting and a nice microbrewery around the corner. We definitely go back here.

Auberge La Tanière

Auberge La Tanière

Tadoussac

Located 5 mi from Tadoussac, Auberge La Tanière offers rooms with private bathrooms and WiFi access. A TV is included in every room. In the morning, a continental breakfast is provided. More a self catering apartment than a hotel which suited us fine. There is a separate reception which is staffed from 9am to 5p. In new block of six rooms each with private bathroom, ours ( Room 6) had access to a large terrace overlooking a beautiful natural lake. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and waking up each morning to such a marvelous view was a delight. The room had air conditioning and a living flame gas fire and electric heating for the colder months. Facilities on site are excellent with a well stocked communal kitchen and dining room for guests to use. We were traveling around Canada and had begun to tire of restaurant food so being able to cook our own was a real bonus. Tadoussac is just 10 km down the road and most tourists stay there. However if you want to be away from the crowds and surrounded by beautiful scenery this could be the place for you. There is a main road nearby but the property is set back some distance from it. We didn't hear any traffic noise at all in our lakeside room. Oh, and there are row boats and kayaks available free to guests if you want to explore the lake. We were there for three nights and could easily have stayed longer.

Hôtel le Manoir Baie-Comeau

Hôtel le Manoir Baie-Comeau

Baie-Comeau

Directly across from the beach, this hotel features beautiful views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It features an on-site restaurant, tennis court and a beauty salon nearby. Rooms offer free WiFi. Very friendly "old world" atmosphere. Nice bar/bistro. Upscale location for those traveling far from civilization (no offense meant...) I stayed here several times on my moto trips over the years, met other north-east explorers (Trans-Lab and such). This seems, surprisingly, a hub for adventure moto travelers. Perhaps, a need for a bit of luxury boost to reward the efforts.

Hotel Le Pionnier

Hotel Le Pionnier

Tadoussac

Overlooking the bay of Tadoussac, Hotel Le Pionnier is minutes from the Interpretation Center of Marine Mammals. The hotel offers tickets and a free shuttle service to whale watching tours. Location was amazing, the room was small but very clean which is the most important thing for us. We didn’t come to spend time inside the rooms, so that didn’t bother us. We could hear other people come and go in the early hours of the morning, but I wouldn’t say that’s much different than other hotels I’ve stayed at. Both staff members we spoke to were very nice and helpful. For the location and cleanliness I would come back. It’s a simple room, nothing to be impressed or to rave about, just perfect for the occasion.
