Only minutes from Lakes Louise and Moraine. Exceptional staff and facilitates. The unit was newer, clean and had a separate bedroom and a sleeper in the large living area. The kitchen was fully equipped allowing us to prepare and enjoy meals together after two glorious days of hiking and exploring Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. Some breakfast items and coffee are provided and replenished in the unit daily, and coffee is always available in the lobby. We took advantage of the laundry which was reasonably priced.

Set amid the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park, this hostel features an on-site cafe and 2 self-catering guest kitchens. It includes private storage for guests and acts as a ski pass vendor. This is a great hostel in the hamlet of Lake Louise. Built in a chalet style with a beautiful common area with lots of wood, stone, and a fireplace. Staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are really nice with lovely views of the mountains. Mine had an ensuite toilet/sink with numerous showers just outside. Plenty of facilities and activities to cater to the budget traveller. This is the only budget accommodation in LL, and it's nice to see that they are not resting on their laurels. LL's only budget restaurant is also within the hostel and is very popular. Awesome place to stay if you don't want to stay in Banff or Canmore.
Located in Banff National Park, this resort features suites with views of the Rocky Mountain. Easy access is available to Bow Valley Parkway and Lake Louise is 20 minutes’ drive away. Very nice cabin, kids love the twin loft. Everything is good. Only bad side of this time's experience is the road closed. Supposedly 10min to Lake Louise, it ended road work and took us 30-40min drive to the location. - No compensate or pre-notice on the booking. The work has been last for a long time, supposed ended in May, while we are staying in July, the road is still closed.
Located in the Kicking Horse River Valley surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains, these cabins offer stone fireplaces and antique furniture. Beautiful cabins with views and probably the best dinner we had during our whole trip! We really loved the fact that the lodge stay also included complimentary canoes on Moraine Lake!

My hiking buddy and I have made two trips to the Canadian Rockies in the last year. We’ve stayed at five or six of the Hosteling International hostels between Banff and Jasper. Mosquito Creek is our absolute favorite! We stayed for two nights in early April 2017. There was 3-4 feet of snow still which made it seem like a winter wonderland with beautiful icicles hanging from the eves. The manager was friendly and obviously loves what he does. I really appreciated the fact that he would check-in on us (two women traveling alone) periodically – but never intrusive. He also checked with us regarding our hiking plans and I felt good knowing that someone knew where we were hiking, (it is the wilderness after all!) The hostel is easy to find, right along the Icefields Parkway just little north of Lake Louise and they have plenty of parking. I’m always impressed with how clean Hosteling International hostels are and Mosquito Creek is no exception. The cabins were very clean, not to mention warm and cozy! Using propane to heat the cabins and solar power for lighting and power. The beds were comfortable and linens, blankets and pillows are provided. The kitchen was spacious with plenty of cookware and utensils – everything we needed. Mosquito creek also has a big social room with a wood stove in the center and plenty of wood and kindling to start your own fire. It was chilly in that room but the fire was warm and there are lots of windows to watch the beautiful snow covered scene outside. They also have some books and games to keep you occupied. One of the best things was the snowshoeing…my friend and I had wanted to try it but didn’t have any of our own. The manager had told us about the snowshoe and cross country ski trails right from the hostel. When we mentioned we didn’t have shoe shoes he said there were some in the shed we could use. So we went right to the shed and played with the snowshoes, finding pairs that fit us.

The building is very old...the floors squeak, things kind of sit on an angle, you can hear the neighbors...but this is what gives it its charm! So don’t expect new and sparkly, but just enjoy the rustic, history of it!
