Amazing property - whanau stayed in Te Aro Villa 1 & 2 and loved every moment! The location 5min walk to Muri Beach was perfect. The cleanliness of the properties and both having a pool meant hours of fun even when the sun went down. The owner was very easy to communicate with - We will definitely book again...

Place which makes you feel rich The best place on Raratonga. It’s located in Muri, just in front of most famous and the most beautiful lagoon of whole island. In Muri there’s night market 4 times a week so if you want to try local food not for “tourist price” that’s the easiest place to go. Market is located 5 minutes on foot from hotel so you don’t have to wait for bus or rent a car just to eat dinner. Two houses away are lagoon cruises departing points so we got every morning a bit of live music for free. Also, around 10 min on foot there’s Te Vara Nui - “island night” entertainment, the only one with stage on water. Beaches on Raro are public but the land in front of them is not so access to beach is a bit tricky if you don’t have accommodation with direct access. This hotel has desk overlooking lagoon and stairs to beach so from your bed you have like 1 minute to beach :) Hotel itself is tiny but that’s its great advantage. It is very private - 5 bungalows for max 2 people, with “only adults” rule and pool just next to beach it makes you feel like you are in place for billionaires, when you actually didn’t have spend that much. Bungalows have huge verandas with chairs and table, where you can have breakfast enjoying ocean or mountain view. Rooms are very spacious, high ceiling with underside of roof open, fan (you really need it to sleep), big comfy bed, love seats just amazing - so comfy I could sleep in them. There’s bathroom on one side and kitchenette on the other, behind bed. There’s everything you need in kitchen if you decide to cook - even mixer to make smoothies from fresh local fruits. I have read in description of the place there would a welcome local fruit if available and I thought it just for show, when actually we got a bowl of local bananas (banana tree was just next to our veranda) and limes. Room is equipped with everything you might need - there’s chair pillows for chairs on veranda and on desk in front of beach.

Private, quiet villas with patio to relax, fall asleep hearing the waves, sit on Adirondack chairs with a glass of wine and enjoy the ocean view. The beds are super comfortable, living area cosy, tastefully decorated and well-appointed. The apartments were clean and serviced every day. The swimming pool was steps away, perfect temperature, deep enough to swim laps. There is a ceiling fan, which was usually enough overnight but there is also an air conditioner if needed. You can walk to Muri beach or take the clock-wise bus a couple of stops. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into renovating and beautifying the property. They were kind, gracious hosts, who made sure we had everything we needed for a lovely stay!

Amazing location, right in front of a perfect, almost private beach. You don’t need to leave the hotel for anything, unless you want to visit other beaches, but we stayed most of the trip there. Very friendly staff, always smiling and welcoming! The food is delicious and for a fair price, we tried almost every meal in the menu. There are snorkel equipment and kayaks available for free use. There’s nothing very special about the room, but the view is breathtaking. This hotel was highly recommended by our friends and we do recommend it to everyone.

Friendly, relaxed vibe in a fabulous location. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything you could need. The night markets and a small 24/7 store are close by. Great coffee and tapas place across the road. We loved hearing the music from koka lagoon tours right next door as they were welcoming guests to their tour. We also loved the free use of paddle boards and kayaks provided by the resort. There were turtles in the lagoon right out front. We can't wait to come back!

Absolutely loved this place! I had 17 of us stay here for my birthday and it was everything we wanted and more! The rooms are big and beautiful, all the kitchen has everything you need! The views were amazing! The lagoon isnt good for swimming, its not even knee deep so that was the only bummer. I would suggest the house in summer would definitely need air conditioning. But over all for us, it was a home away from home and thank you so much for renting it out to us

It gave a very tropical vibe with all the greenery and being right next to the water, seeing closely where the lagoon meets the ocean. The sounds of the waves crashing was so healing and therapeutic that i had an amazing sleep. The pool definitely needs an upgrade or maybe even just a coat of paint but we still enjoyed it VERY MUCH! Also a food shop onsite that sells the most amazing toasties!! YUUUUMMMM!!

The location couldn’t be more perfect, the western side of the island is perfectly protected by wind and so close to the reef edge you get such a close up experience with the whales. The accomodation is impeccably clean and run by the friendliest staff. Highly recommend booking a beachfront suite, it truly feels like a private beach just for you.

Surprisingly the weather wasn't the best - very windy and overcast for the first 3 days, but it become more sunny after that. The locals found it cold too! Easy place to travel around. The buses are good if you don't want to drive. The bus app is v handy. Full of 60+, so probably not a place if you are looking to party-up! The colour of the water is stunning.

Arorangi is a great spot as it is short walk to beach and also has access to luxury resorts. It is very close to the airport & Close to hospital, cafes, restaurants and personal care facilities - nails / hair / massage. Recommend car hire to get around the Island to access activities etc. We ate at restaurants and also eateries such as bakeries. Bakery near airport highly recommended as well as Spaghetti Hut - great Italian. we hiked up mount Te rua manga - the needle and also a smaller mountain in arorangi - great views! Rarotonga still has the lovely undeveloped rural feel to it

We booked 9 days which just right as we missed a Tuesday with different time zones, so ended up 1week. If we'd booked 7 days it would have become 3 days because of the time difference. The supermarket was well stocked as were the many fruit and veggies stalls. I was still able to get my cappuccino fix.

Supermarket and Polynesian Car Rentals right next door to the villa. Recommend Vaimua Restaurant for an upmarket dinner and the Beach Hut for casual dining. A lunch at the Maia Gardens is a must which is in walking distance of the villa. Local bus was great to get around on which stops outside the supermarket. It was a great location. Would recommend the snorkelling to see the turtles with the sea scooters. Best way to travel the island is on a scooter.

Enjoyed the area where the boats departed for what became Aotearoa/NewZealand. We ate often at Tiare’s in Muri Beach. Muri Beach itself. Yes easy to navigate Ngatangiia. Water sports for all who require them at Muri. Church - rugby field and the weekly over water show in Muri village.

Hire a car, local bus is a pain to keep waiting for. Road surfaces in some areas are terribly uneven and not good to drive on. Local residents are friendly and obliging. Prices for most items are reasonable. Can have a load of fun but restrict time spent there as it can get a little ho hum. Muri is best beach for sandy area. Plenty of good eating, restaurants and cafes plentiful.

Rarotonga is great. Avarua not so much.

Rarotonga is great. Avarua not so much. It is fairly industrial in nature, and there really is not much to do. The Punanga Nui Market is open 8-2 a few days a week, and on Saturday is expanded. This is about the only thing to do in town, and after maybe 30-45 min you're done. There is a fair amount of traffic, few sidewalks (be careful walking around!), and most things close (including restaurants) at 15:00 or 16:00. It's kind of dirty and not very pretty. There are too many other places to go on the island that are much nicer!

Been here before and is lovely shallow lagoon easy for swimming & kayaking with some fish to see snorkelling. This time there is a shocking amount of sea algae in the water and covering the beach. Is evidently a common problem due to run off from resorts. Was okay either side of high tide.
