From start to finish, everything was taking care of. Excellent hospitality by the family, more than tasty food at their restaurant and the drinks were perfect. Every detail had their highest priority. As a hospitality industry professional myself, I was very impressed. We had been travelling in the amazon jungle for 4 days, this was the perfect place to relax afterwards. Javier and Natalia and their children are wonderful hosts, and Javier is also a taxi driver, and was always willing to help us get around. The hotel is at the end of the street, but only two or three blocks from the main road that takes you to the border with Brazil--walking distance. It's very basic--no free breakfast, but the accommodations are comfortable and the internet works as well as it does anywhere else in Leticia. The price simply can't be beat. And their kids will sit and tell you about what there is to do and see.

I stayed for 3 nights and it was great to get away from a city and into nature. You are surrounded by lush vegetation, lots of monkeys and a couple of beautiful parrots. I took their kayak for a paddle into the lagoon where I saw some dolphins cresting the surface and more monkeys along the shoreline. Did not do any tours because I have some booked in Iquitos. But after talking to a couple of guests, they said their tours were really good. The hosts were very friendly and kind. I had a back cabana which was very quiet while you listened to the sounds of the jungle. I had a surprise visitor one morning when Lulu came to say Hola. Highly recommend this place.

Perfect location for what we were looking for - set in the middle of the jungle in a quiet place, but easily accessible from Puerto Nariño. We took the public boat from Leticia (which Carlos and Zoraida kindly reserved for us) and then Carlos picked us up from Puerto Nariño. The tours we did with them were excellent and very reasonably priced. We went over to a Peruvian village and explored the flooded forest there and saw lots of sloths. We also had a great lunch there. We also enjoyed the jungle walks (including a night walk!) and the trip to Lake Tarapoto, where we swam in the lake, saw eagles and pink and grey dolphins, and fished for piranhas. We loved our guide Danny, who was very knowledgeable, helpful, and full of enthusiasm! The pool was very welcome to cool off from the heat! We were impressed that the place had good WiFi in the evenings given its location.

Our stay was exceptional. The property and facilities were spotless and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I left our key with another person in our group accidentally and was not able to return it when checking out. The front desk was incredibly helpful and understanding and helped us getting a tuktuk driver to return it to the hotel.

I spent a few days here relaxing after a trek in the jungle. The staff was super helpful, providing me with rides to and from Leticia as well as to and from the airport. The restaurant was delicious and the chef was able to accomodate for my various dietary restrictions! I highly recommend Cabanas Yakuruna!
