An incredible experience of true hotel service. The hotel has a long history and a large "family" (staff) who are always happy to help you. Since this hotel is the first on the island, its location is, in my opinion, the best. Loved everything!

Extremely centric location at the start of the pedestrian shops and restaurant street, close to everything. Good breakfast, freshly baked white bread every morning. Airconditioning in every room, spacious family room, shower with both hot and "cold" water. Good and decent priced restaurant at the hotel.

The price was very affordable for the quality of our stay. The apartment was great and very clean. The kitchen made possible to cook yourself. The dishes were even washed daily by the room service. The place was peaceful and the area was guarded and completely illuminated with street lights during the nights. Even though the hotel is not right next to the beach or the centre of Santa Maria, there was a free (/included) bus to take you there. There was a minimercado to buy the basic food items in the hotel area. There was also a restaurant and a bar there, but we didn't somehow visit them. All in all, I can strongly recommend Vila Verde if you are looking for a nice apartment hotel near Santa Maria.

I had an amazing experience at Surf House Cabo Verde. Aldo and Barbara are absolutely fantastic — extremely kind, friendly, and always available whenever you need anything. You can really feel his hospitality and attention to detail, which made my stay very comfortable. The apartment is spacious, bright, and very clean. It’s in a perfect location — close to everything, yet quiet and relaxing. The internet connection is excellent, which made it easy to work and stay connected. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Cabo Verde. It’s a wonderful home away from home!

The hotel is very new and located in one of the best beach in Sal. The food is super delicious, varied and simple perfect. They have a lot of work out classes that are awsome, the quality is the same as a very good gym. The beach yoga is incredible! The rooms are new and are extremly confortable. And the staff is super nice, and communicative. I really liked that the staff ate at the buffet with the guests, it really shows they care about the employees.

It is the best possible apartment in Santa Maria. Location 15/10, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, cleaning, everything. The host Sara was extremely nice and lovely. She helped with all our requests and questions within 30 minutes time.

Amazing breakfast, a lot of options, and staff really nice always ready to help with everything we need. The best hotel I have been so far. My flight was late and they offer us a room to have a shower for 30 min at the end of the day.

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and...

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and snorkelling. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone on a couple of trips but there isn’t lots to do there. I went to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, I could have stayed one more day but not enough there to keep you busy for a week. Some nice restaurants along the strip and the people weren’t too pushy which I loved even the guys selling on the beach.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport. Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats. There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes. The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way. Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town. We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday. A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

Santa maria= no stress. Lovely place... Can be expensive in certain restaurants, but also affordable in othere. Very lovely beaches, bars, restaurants etc. You meet alot of people from all over the world.. Good for solo travellers, you'll meet other solo travellers too. Loved it,i would come back.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave,...

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .

we stayed near the pier which was idyllic. Santa Maria is not commercialized no high rise hotels etc. it is very laid back and chilled. there are plenty of bars and restaurants though but this is not a party place if that's what you are wanting its for relaxing. the locals are so nice and just want to please you. Bear in mind if you stay in one of the big hotels they are not near the beach i would opt of an apartment as most of these are on the sea front
