Fantastic Stay at Hotel Riu Cabo Verde – Relaxing, Welcoming, and Memorable! 🌴 I recently spent a week at Hotel Riu Cabo Verde and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is stunning – right on a beautiful, sandy beach with clear blue waters. Perfect for long walks, swimming, or simply relaxing with a cocktail in hand. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and designed for comfort. My room was spacious, with a lovely balcony and a well-stocked minibar. Housekeeping did a great job keeping everything tidy and fresh. What really stood out was the staff – everyone from reception to the restaurant team was warm, friendly, and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure guests were comfortable and having a good time. The food options were impressive, especially for an all-inclusive resort. The buffet had a great variety with fresh, flavorful dishes, and the à la carte restaurants were a nice change of pace. I particularly enjoyed the Italian and the steakhouse. During the day, there were plenty of activities (shoutout to the fun and energetic entertainment team!), but if you just want to unwind, the two pools and beach loungers offer plenty of space to relax. If I had to note anything, I’d say the buffet can get a bit repetitive after several days, and outdoor seating in the evenings could be a bit more sheltered from the wind. But those are small things in an otherwise excellent stay. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Riu Cabo Verde for anyone looking for a relaxing, sun-filled getaway with great service and a welcoming vibe. I’d definitely return!

The staff is incredible. The location is the best: WAY BETTER than any resort in the other area. It’s the only local-owned hotel in the island. A genuine experience with loads of art, smiles and good vibes. Thank you Nadia and all the other staff for the good moments. I will be back ASAP. Amazing food and very nice breakfast. By far way better than any 5* resort in Sal.

The beds and pillows! Incredible and comfy The shower pressure was good, and the water was warm. The size of the room was great, too, with a small balcony. The stuff team re fantastic. very clean big hotel in all aspects. relatively quiet night time. breakfast decent cold and hot food good everything basic you need I’m gluten and lactose and I didn’t have any issues about food. shower Pression good but isn’t super hot but warm enough not much consistency on same temperature however all island is like this. Very well centred near to everything you need. good swimming pool, The jacuzzi on terrace I didn’t had opportunity to go Restaurant in the area price vary from £8 to let’s say £20-25 the expensive meal with a glass of wine. Food in restaurants resuming it’s super cheap. Most of my meal fresh fish, salad , rice was £15 including a glass of wine. Beach was bit windy but you can get a good tan even being winter you feel well the sun much better than be at canaries island

Absolutely impeccable stay! The hotel is beautiful, stunning, and perfectly maintained in every detail. The service was excellent: the staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and always helpful, making us feel right at home. The restaurant is outstanding, with truly delicious food and surprisingly low prices. We also really appreciated the many services offered free of charge by the hotel, which made our experience even more enjoyable. We traveled with our one-year-old daughter and had a wonderful time—everything was perfectly suited for families. Highly recommended! If we return to Cape Verde, we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again without any doubt.

The appartments we rented were with ocean view, really spaceous and clean. Every night there are security people working and so we could leave our laundry outside to dry. Since the appartments are RIGHT by the beach you could come and go to the beach any time - day and night. Activities like snorkeling, kite surfing, diving and so on you can book anywhere in walking range. There are countless seafood restaurants nearby, rooftop bars as well. We highly recommend this place! The staff was really nice and helpful. We booked an extra late checkout without any problems. Five stars from us and very well deserved!

Loved our 1 week stay, everything was clean (rooms and social spots were cleaned everyday), the staff is polite, the food amazing there was always something you could eat even if you are picky - great fruit and vegetable tables too, good facilities and easy beach and pool access. Had security in multiple places and I loved the animation team (both the beach activities and nocturnal performances). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cabo Verde! We had no issues with the food or the Ice in the drinks, but obviously avoid pipe water.

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Oasis Belorizonte. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the beach, which made it perfect for a relaxing holiday. The all-inclusive food was good, with a decent variety to choose from, and it was a nice touch that bottled water was provided to all guests. The staff were especially friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more pleasant. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely consider coming back!

Espargos is not a tourist town, but a residential town on the island of Sal. It allows you to get to know the local population off the main tourst location Santa Maria in the south of Sal. On Saturday night I was lucky to run in a live music event presented by 'Cindy' a local artist singing in the style of Cape Verde for friends and family in a bar not too far from my apartment. I happened to find it because I walked across all of Espargos at night from the main bus stop to the other end of town where the apartment is.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

It's interesting to see local people every day life.

It's interesting to see local people every day life. Sometimes they are getting too intrusive and small children are coming and just asking money... During the day it's not much to do there, but you can take the local bus and travel to the Espargos or Santa Maria. Couple of places you can eat and drink bear in the evenings. We were satisfied to chose Palmeira as our sleeping place.

Walkable town, great beaches, relaxed vibes, a few decent nightlife and restaurant options, great quality live music, safe, easy to arrange tours and excursions. Main downside was the continuous harassment from men from the West African mainland (not Cabo Verdean) inside bars and in the street, as we were two caucasian females. This was exhausting and detracted from the otherwise safe and pleasant experience.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats. There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes. The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way. Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town. We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday. A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

For european who has not visited Africa before it takes few days to adapt, but when you are starting to get used to the new environment it is interesting and enjoyable! Loved the beaches! Easy to move around (a lot of taxis with fixed price 5€ per drive) and buses. Don't get confused about locals and Senegal people. The second ones try to sell you everything all the time but locals are calmer, friendly and more polite. You start to recognize the diffrence in few days.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .
