I recently stayed at Robinson Cape Verde, and it was truly one of the best vacation experiences I’ve ever had. They went above and beyond, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home from the start. One of the things I loved was the variety of free activity classes available every day. Whether you’re into yoga, beach workouts, or water sports, there’s always something to try, and the instructors are fantastic. They keep it fun and engaging, so every day feels like an adventure if you want it to be! And let me rave about the food—easily the best I’ve had on the island. Not only is there a huge selection, but everything is also incredibly healthy and tasty. The chefs put a lot of thought into crafting meals that are as nutritious as they are delicious, and you can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. From local Cape Verdean dishes to international options, every meal was a delight. All in all, Robinson Cape Verde combines the best of everything—an ideal location, excellent facilities, and staff that truly make the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to recharge in a beautiful, welcoming setting.

The appartments we rented were with ocean view, really spaceous and clean. Every night there are security people working and so we could leave our laundry outside to dry. Since the appartments are RIGHT by the beach you could come and go to the beach any time - day and night. Activities like snorkeling, kite surfing, diving and so on you can book anywhere in walking range. There are countless seafood restaurants nearby, rooftop bars as well. We highly recommend this place! The staff was really nice and helpful. We booked an extra late checkout without any problems. Five stars from us and very well deserved!

Very tourist-dominant and expensive!

Very tourist-dominant and expensive! Lots of people are trying to sell you the same tacky souvenirs over and over again! Some parts near the centre are very shabby. One visit is enough, although some people go several times due to the all-year-round sun! It was ok and lovely in parts, but be prepared to be harassed daily by the locals selling stuff!

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport. Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats. There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes. The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way. Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town. We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday. A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and snorkelling. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone on a couple of trips but there isn’t lots to do there. I went to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, I could have stayed one more day but not enough there to keep you busy for a week. Some nice restaurants along the strip and the people weren’t too pushy which I loved even the guys selling on the beach.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .

Santa maria= no stress. Lovely place... Can be expensive in certain restaurants, but also affordable in othere. Very lovely beaches, bars, restaurants etc. You meet alot of people from all over the world.. Good for solo travellers, you'll meet other solo travellers too. Loved it,i would come back.
