Ocean Suites is much more than a hotel. The service and attention that you as a customer receive every day is great🤩. I stayed in room 2 (for me one of the nicest room)😌. The room was large, with good working air conditioning and a beautiful view of the popular square and main street.The servers were friendly one by one and want to do everything for you "NO STRESS". And every evening there is live music downstairs in the restaurant with good music. You dance💃🏾 until you can't feel your feet anymore (haha). For your safety, a security guard is present every night and after an evening out he will bring you safely to the entrance so that you can safely return to your room.
Breakfast ,lunch and diner:
Every morning I could choose between 3 different breakfast menus (American🥓, Cape Verde🫘 and Mediterranean🍅). All three were tasty and you get a lot! You can also enjoy a delicious meal there (lunch and dinner). Try their burger🍔 (one of the tastiest burgers in Cabo Verde!)🤌🏽.
The beach and the famous pier are a 3-minute walk from the hotel! All famous cafes and restaurants are a 5 or 6 minute walk from the hotel. If you want to save money, book all activities through Dorry, which will save you 10 to 20 euros per excursion. And you can also arrange your transport to and from the airport through Dorry.
Ocean Suites is for me the best hotel in Santa Maria! Adilson makes the best coffee☕️ for you in the morning. Janete serves you with her beautiful smile in the evening 😍(She has the most beautiful curls I had ever seen) And Flavio teaches you the coolest dance moves every evening💃🏾.

GermanyPorto Antigo is a really beautiful Hotel! Our apartment had direct access to a small beach! This was perfect four the kids. The pool is also very nice an close to the pool there is another small beach without stones our rocks in the water...also perfect four children!!
The apartment was perfectly clean and you have the basic equipment for cooking!!
We spent a really good time in Porto Antigo and I will definitely come another time when I go to Sal.

Very nice and helpful staff. Taxi from and to airport were well arranged. The room was large with a nice private terras. Rooms were cleaned daily and two large bottles of water were offered at arrival. There is a small shop nearby that I used to get a cheap local SIM card (2€ for 1GB of data - doesn't get any better than that :-)). The formula with all means included was very nice: the morning a buffer with all I could wish for and the other meals are 3 courses with choses of meat, pizza, fish, veggie, ... There was sufficient room around the pool area and there is a great view on the sunset! I highly recommend to rent a scooter in Santa-Maria for a couple of days, allowing to easily discover the best parts of the island. Also here, the reception gave me very good pointers.

Extraordinary sports offer, very good food and spa, kind staff, comfortable rooms. I was most surprised by a very large and novative sports offer, from yoga to HIT, with very good trainers. Food offer was very good too, and daily sauna at the end of the day was the cherry on the cake. Evenings in February were too cold for us to attend evening events but they seemed very nice too.
We appreciated a lot that hotel managed to extend our stay in despite of high demand.
Even though majority of staff and guests are German, everyone speaks English and made us feel comfortable.

I fall in love with this Villa, and the location rigth on the beach. Book room on the beachside, its worth every penny! We had the top floor, it was amazing! This Villa is rigth in centrum with every thing close by! The Villa have security guards on both side of the house, so them thiefs dont have a chance! Super safe! You walk in your bikini, and 2 meters outside you touch the beach sand under your feet! I fall in love with Capo Verde and this place🙏

My flight was late and they offer us a room to have a shower for 30 min at the end of the day.

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and...
We were only there for three nights to get some sun and snorkelling. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone on a couple of trips but there isn’t lots to do there. I went to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, I could have stayed one more day but not enough there to keep you busy for a week.
Some nice restaurants along the strip and the people weren’t too pushy which I loved even the guys selling on the beach.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal.
Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport.
Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats.
There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes.
The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way.
Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town.
We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday.
A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

Lovely place... Can be expensive in certain restaurants, but also affordable in othere. Very lovely beaches, bars, restaurants etc.
You meet alot of people from all over the world..
Good for solo travellers, you'll meet other solo travellers too.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .

we stayed near the pier which was idyllic. Santa Maria is not commercialized no high rise hotels etc. it is very laid back and chilled. there are plenty of bars and restaurants though but this is not a party place if that's what you are wanting its for relaxing. the locals are so nice and just want to please you. Bear in mind if you stay in one of the big hotels they are not near the beach i would opt of an apartment as most of these are on the sea front
