I recently stayed at Robinson Cape Verde, and it was truly one of the best vacation experiences I’ve ever had. The standout aspect was definitely the incredible staff—everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure guests had an amazing time. They went above and beyond, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home from the start. One of the things I loved was the variety of free activity classes available every day. Whether you’re into yoga, beach workouts, or water sports, there’s always something to try, and the instructors are fantastic. They keep it fun and engaging, so every day feels like an adventure if you want it to be! And let me rave about the food—easily the best I’ve had on the island. Not only is there a huge selection, but everything is also incredibly healthy and tasty. The chefs put a lot of thought into crafting meals that are as nutritious as they are delicious, and you can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. From local Cape Verdean dishes to international options, every meal was a delight. All in all, Robinson Cape Verde combines the best of everything—an ideal location, excellent facilities, and staff that truly make the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to recharge in a beautiful, welcoming setting.

Loved our 1 week stay, everything was clean (rooms and social spots were cleaned everyday), the staff is polite, the food amazing there was always something you could eat even if you are picky - great fruit and vegetable tables too, good facilities and easy beach and pool access. Had security in multiple places and I loved the animation team (both the beach activities and nocturnal performances). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cabo Verde! We had no issues with the food or the Ice in the drinks, but obviously avoid pipe water.

I fall in love with this Villa, and the location rigth on the beach. Book room on the beachside, its worth every penny! We had the top floor, it was amazing! This Villa is rigth in centrum with every thing close by! The Villa have security guards on both side of the house, so them thiefs dont have a chance! Super safe! You walk in your bikini, and 2 meters outside you touch the beach sand under your feet! I fall in love with Capo Verde and this place🙏 ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Nice hotel at the good location just one block from the beach. They have own zone with sun beds on the beach. Room was big size with huge comfortable bed. A lot of space for sunbathing around the swimming pool nice garden. The only thing what was disappointing was breakfast very boring everyday same stuff plus a lot of sugar. For person who is not eating sugar was too much unhealthy options.

Espargos is not a tourist town, but a residential town on the island of Sal. It allows you to get to know the local population off the main tourst location Santa Maria in the south of Sal. On Saturday night I was lucky to run in a live music event presented by 'Cindy' a local artist singing in the style of Cape Verde for friends and family in a bar not too far from my apartment. I happened to find it because I walked across all of Espargos at night from the main bus stop to the other end of town where the apartment is.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

It's interesting to see local people every day life.

It's interesting to see local people every day life. Sometimes they are getting too intrusive and small children are coming and just asking money... During the day it's not much to do there, but you can take the local bus and travel to the Espargos or Santa Maria. Couple of places you can eat and drink bear in the evenings. We were satisfied to chose Palmeira as our sleeping place.

Walkable town, great beaches, relaxed vibes, a few decent nightlife and restaurant options, great quality live music, safe, easy to arrange tours and excursions. Main downside was the continuous harassment from men from the West African mainland (not Cabo Verdean) inside bars and in the street, as we were two caucasian females. This was exhausting and detracted from the otherwise safe and pleasant experience.

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport. Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

This is a small working port town with a traditional small scale fishing industry. It is gradually coming up into the modern world as a result of tourism. The harbour is used by yachts, tall ships and daytrip boats. There is a town beach but it is not commercialised in any way and is not cleaned for leisure purposes. The people are friendly and we did not feel threatened in any way. Restaurants, hotels and some shops will accept Euros and there is an ATM in the town. We liked Palmeira for a short visit before and after a sailing holiday. A taxi to the airport costs 800 cve or 8 Euro.

For european who has not visited Africa before it takes few days to adapt, but when you are starting to get used to the new environment it is interesting and enjoyable! Loved the beaches! Easy to move around (a lot of taxis with fixed price 5€ per drive) and buses. Don't get confused about locals and Senegal people. The second ones try to sell you everything all the time but locals are calmer, friendly and more polite. You start to recognize the diffrence in few days.

Espargos is a good place to stay to reach the Blue Eye Cave, Shark Bay and Pedro da Lume, but I thought it would be cheaper to get to those places by taxi. Overall not much to do in the city itself, but I didnt want to miss the island’s capital. Not as touristy as Santa Maria, you can stroll the streets without being bothered, I felt safe, very friendly propeople as everywhere on Sal .
