Caribbean Multicultural Rainbow

With its colourful Dutch colonial houses and its crystalline Caribbean waters, the island-country of Curaçao is located off the coast of Venezuela. Scuba diving is popular in the surrounding coral reefs that can be reached without a boat. The rugged northern coast is rocky, while the southern area has calm waters and sandy coves.

Rest in a small Curaçao hotel on the beach or in some of its fishing villages located on the shores of the inlets and bays. You can also enjoy an all-inclusive resort in Curacao’s lively capital Willemstad.

An autonomous country that is part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Curaçao has a multi-ethnic community. With an Afro-Caribbean majority, it includes Dutch, Latin American, French and Asian minorities. It is a multilingual society where creole Papiamentu, Spanish, Dutch, English and Portuguese are widely spoken.

Taste the delicious blend of flavours and techniques of its Creole food, or try the variety of seafood. Indonesian, Chinese and Dutch can be easily found. The famous Curaçao liqueur is made here with the local citrus fruit called laraha.
