This property really was exceptional. It is run by the friars of a monastery and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The rooms combine simplicity with great practicality, making very good use of space. The optional buffet breakfast provided by the friars is very good and excellent value.

Great food, friendly personnel, everything worked. Not the most modern cabins or the comfiest beds, but included all that we needed and more. The host took really good care of us, even though there was a mixup in the meal package we ordered. They even prepared nice takeaway breakfast bags for us for 2 mornings when we had to hit the road before breakfast time.

Communication with the owner was excellent right from the moment the booking was confirmed. The information on how to access the apartment worked perfectly. The apartment was immaculately clean and equipped with everything required. The only way to describe the views from the terrace are sensational. The area is also so peaceful. Absolute bliss. The apartment has secure underground parking which was wonderful for us as we had been staying on the Costa Del Sol for 7 weeks therefore our car was absolutely full of our personal possessions. This was our first ever visit to the Mar Menor but we intend to return to the area as soon as possible.

Murcia City is a working Spanish city rather than a holiday...

Murcia City is a working Spanish city rather than a holiday destination for foreign tourists - about 80% of the guests at our hotel were Spanish. There are some beautiful historical buildings to see and visit plus the walk along the River Segura is pleasant and cool. Finding places to eat and drink was a bit difficult as there did not seem to be many places around, and even less in August when a lot of places close down as the locals head to the coast for the month. However the best place to eat is the Mercado De Correos in the centre of town - it is an upmarket food hall where you can eat authentic Murcian food.

A really easy resort with lots of restaurants, bars and a wonderful sandy beach with very warm, shallow sea that you can sit in all afternoon. Safe too. Great beach bars. And everything is very reasonably priced - 3 euros for a beer! It's not an exclusive resort with michelin star restaurants but if you want cheap, easy, beach, shops, restaurants, late night bars for a dance, and everything within easy reach it's perfect

We hadn't been here before and were very surprised to find that it is a place where Spaniards spend their holidays. There were very few people from the UK or other countries. The town has everything you need - restaurants, ice cream shops, supermarkets and busy markets. The town centre is an easy walk from the apartment.

San Pedro del Pinatar is a very Spanish centric resort on the top end of the Mar Menor. It is easy to walk around with 2 very good beaches on the Mar Menor and a bit further away access to the Med. It has a great selection of shops and restaurants, plus there is a good street market. As it is a Spanish resort we found the price of eating out €5-10 per head less than a traditional tourist resort. All the restaurants we went to were good to great depending on your taste. There are great fish restaurants near the marina and surprisingly the Spanish version of Fish & Chips where they were queuing out the door. This included fried calamari and more. A good few hours out activity is to go snorkelling out of the marina. The hosts on board were brilliant and for a 3.5hrs trip with 1.25hrs snorkelling it was well worth it for €40ph. Plus you practically get a full tour across the Mar Menor. All in all a great place to chill away from the traditional over run Britainized locations.

No kitchen appliances, did not know you had to order in advance. Woman in reception extremely rude. No water consumed by poolside ij a heatwave, the owner threatened to call the police for drinking water. The lifeguard spent more time making sure we were not drinking water, rather than check for peoples safety. Asked 'Where are you from'? Pure US AND THEM. The site was like a shanty town and our view was of an industrial park and yes lots of noise. Our tent smelled like cat pee and there was bugs all over the tent, When we received our fridge, hob and microwave we had no pans to cook with.
