"We undertook a family trip with our young children. Valencia proved to be exactly what we desired and exceptionally engaging for our children. It is abundant in parks and boasts a captivating old city, yet the highlights that our children enjoyed the most were the Oceanogràfic and the Bioparc. Certainly, the entire 'City of Arts and Sciences' in Valencia is a must-see destination. We highly recommend visiting the city of Valencia, specifically for a family with young children, just like ours."

"I was in Gandia to start learning Spanish and found it ideal because the staff at the bars and restaurants I frequented spoke mainly Spanish. This was perfect for me as it made me use my small but growing Spanish vocabulary. I highly recommend visiting Gandia if you are a traveler like me who enjoys meeting and engaging with locals. The historic town center is great for people of all ages to explore on foot as it is flat. Historical landmarks such as Palau Ducal dels Borja de Gandia are well marked. Lots of shopping, drinking, and eating out options. I loved going out for an afternoon caña, 200 ml beer served in ice cold glasses with a side of olives. In general, the olives were complimentary at the small Cervecerías in the town center, while at the bigger beach bars one would have to order a snack. A very reliable and regular bus network with multi-trip passes that are cheaper than buying single tickets. Gandia also has its own train station from which one can go into Valencia City for around €11. We also found a fabulous Chiropracticioner right at the beach: Chiropractic, Carrer Armada Espanyola, 46730 Grau i Platja, València. Mauricio and his team are super friendly and helpful! I am already making plans for my next session when we go back to Gandia in August. One of our favourite places to eat was a local brasserie specialising in grilled food called Fuego Lento: Carrer de Jaume II, 46701 Gandia, Valencia. We went back several times in our 2-week stay. We will definitely be regular guests. For Spanish lessons, I took private lessons at Access English: Carrer Sant Pere, 9, 46702 Gandia in the center of town. I had a lovely teacher who exercised extreme patience and good humour during my lessons. Fabulous food, gorgeous beaches, interesting historical landmarks, and very friendly local people. All-in-all, well worth visiting... At least once! ;-)"

"I didn’t go around too far as the hotel area is quite away from main attractions. The area looks very much like an industrial state with many big businesses around. Probably the hotel would be handy for business travel with contacts nearby. For holidays and proper Valencia life, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or area."

"Visited Faro de Cullera in low season so difficult to say what it may be like in July or August. Plenty of restaurants and bars around within easy walking distance. Beach is lovely. Very clean and good views across the bay. Would love to go again and stay for longer. Cullera is just over a half hour train journey from Valencia Nord, then Faro de Cullera is a short taxi or bus ride from Cullera train station."

"There isn't much to do in El Puig, to be honest. We stayed there because were invited to a wedding at La Cartuja, which is a very nice place. We took advantage to visit the Monasterio de Santa María del Puig (guided tours during the morning) in the center of town and the Printing Museum, in the same Monastery building. Both were nice. About 25 minutes heading North we visited the Coves de St. Josep, in which you take a boat ride on the longest underground waterway in Europe! And further 60 minutes North, on the coast, the beautiful town of Peñíscola."

The hotel left a generally very positive impression. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels were changed every day, and the bed linen was changed every 4 days. The biggest drawback is the lack of a washing machine. The balcony is huge, with a great view, a table, and a sofa — perfect for enjoying the evenings and relaxing. The room has a TV with internet, so you can watch something if you want. Unfortunately, the reception staff don’t always speak even basic English, which made communication a bit uncomfortable. A translator sometimes helps, but you don’t always want to rely on it for every small issue. The kitchen has a minimal set of utensils, and there’s no oven, so it’s impossible to cook something like pizza. Dust isn’t cleaned everywhere — in the far upper corners there were a few centimeters of dust. Overall, despite minor drawbacks, this is an excellent hotel for a comfortable stay.

Valencia is a beautiful shore town with a rich history, as well as beautiful residents, and I strongly recommend visiting. However, the municipality must address the blight including the homeless. A city generating that kind of income should be able to house the underprivileged and power wash the streets.

It takes more than one or even two days to see all that...

It takes more than one or even two days to see all that Gandia has to offer. The central city has many museums and walking opportunities, and there's the beach (a whole day, including time to see the fishermen's auction), as well as the surrounding areas, including a castle and a monastery.

Lovely beach which is very clean ,beds and umberellas are a bit pricey, really enjoyed a visit to the castle and the town itself is lovely to walk round and you are very rarely more than 2 minutes from a bar,but i think you need a bit of spanish language knowledge as this isnt the costas

We were based in Oliva Nova 2 miles from Oliva, plenty of good restaurants and a supermarket, large long Sandy beach with beach side cafe. Large equestrian centre with full facilities. Good road links to neighbouring resorts. Golf coarse.

It’s place to stop only over night , on the way to somewhere else! Don’t be tempted to visit Paterna its self unless you like being disappointed. No parking, no decent bars, give it a miss and head into Valencia!

I wished I had stayed longer. It was a lovely location.

I wished I had stayed longer. It was a lovely location. Could do with more restaurant choices. Needed more time to explore. The weather was a bit too hot for me and one day was 38 degree's. The rest were about 35 degree's, but it was July, so expected.

It's a good combination of a seaside resort and a working town, so has a good range of facilities including bars and restaurants for the whole year. Long, spacious sand beach with plenty of free parking. Prices for food and drink are lower than many other places due to strong competition. Easy travel by bus, train or car to/from Valencia.

Ibis will be the great hotel if it do not have couple of...

Ibis will be the great hotel if it do not have couple of problems. The problem with the location is easy to solve with good working metro. Another problem is more serious. It is the continental breakfast. This option proposed on the hotel's web site only for $7 per person per day. If you decide to purchase it in the hotel after the arrival, it will be cost $11 daily for you. All another required services are regular in the hotel.

The hotel itself is very good and comfortable but, from our experience as first time visitors in Valencia, it may not be the ideal place to stay due to its location. Taxi fare to/from the city center can be expensive. There aren't too many restaurants close by as most of them are at the city center.
