The property is beautiful as are the views. What made our stay exceptional though was the hospitality of Garrett (and later Rémy). Garrett not only made us feel welcome, helped us orient ourselves, gave excellent restaurant recommendations, he also, in the spur of the moment, helped us organize a small party for our friends. When I answered that our stay exceeded our expectations, it was above all because of Garrett's hospitality. The Domaine de Montine has a little jewel there in Garrett!

Built in 1661, Les Arcades Le Lion D'or is located in the famous 15th-century arcades in the heart of the listed, historic village of Buis les Baronnies. What a fabulous hotel! We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June. This is an old, quirky establishment in the centre of a market town (Wednesday and Saturday). The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. Our room was huge and well equipped, with the largest bed we've ever seen. a fridge, a security box, large shower room and separate toilet. Our room had a veranda looking out over the market square. We didn't know if this would be a problem or not but it was so quiet, even on the Saturday morning when the market was in full swing. All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean. The pool area and huge garden offer a beautiful oasis of calm. We chose not to take breakfast until the last day and that was plentiful and delicious. (we normally prefer a late start, taking a coffee in a local café). The town is not too big but offers a choice of places to eat and drink. We ate one night at La Fourchette which was amazing (limited menu but this was fine for us). This is a really pretty area of France and there are lovely places to visit. Merci beaucoup!

Standing on 4 verdant hectares with century-old trees and flowers in the heart of the Rhone Valley is Le Domaine du Colombier, a beautiful 14th-century Bastide country house. Absolutely wonderful hotel - a little oasis in the countryside. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, the room was really lovely and the setting absolutely delightful. Food and drinks were also excellent, and everything was superb value. We felt this was nearer a 5* stay than a 4*. Really exceptional and we would love to visit again in the future.
