Staff were welcoming and professional. We got a courtesy call as we were running late travelling from Edinburgh to ask if we would like to order dinner in advance.
Exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Great mattresses.
We were in the separate disabled accommodation which was roomy and thoughtfully laid out. We stayed for 3 nights and were offered clean towels and tea coffee top ups every day.
The small fridge was a welcome extra. The sofa seating was well positioned and made the room easy to stay in for 3 nights.

United StatesI wasn't sure what to expect with part of the name being "rooms" and coming into reception behind the building, but it was just lovely. This is a lovely old hotel that has been fixed up very nicely. The man at the desk was so cheerful and
helpful. There is a Thai restaurant in the building too that is loved by tourists and locals alike..
Our mattress was comfortable. We were 3 floors up that gave us a view of the lake there and it was nice to sit in the

Having been just recently very tastefully and sensitively refurbished and decorated the hotel is visually stunning. Everywhere is comfortable and clean with a beautiful dining room overlooking a beautifully landscaped garden. The evening meal was cooked to a very high standard with a great menu to choose from. We had a standard room with a very comfortable bed and lovely decor with a touch of luxury everywhere. We were very surprised to find the vintage radiator actually worked and kept the room very cosy and the view from our window was lovely. The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The lovely owner spoke to us at dinner and told us a little about the hotel itself and her journey through the refurbishment and she is rightfully very proud of her achievement. Just excellent in every way.

Small and beautiful town and this place is like a gem. Not to many hotels here though it was decorated very decent. Great staff helpful and got me iron when i needed after hours. Recommended place while in Arbroath and definitely coming back.

Fantastic little gem in the heart of the town! Lovely, friendly hosts, and the room was lovely with all the wee touches. Hubby loved the lemonade! Thanks for a lovely stay, we will definitely return next time we visit family.

I come here to visit my family which is the most important reason I visit Arbroath. There are some good things about Arbroath & like every other towns in Scotland there are some bad things like empty shops & untidy area's that need attention

Room was perfect size for family, bathroom has leak beside shower causing mold /rotten wood.
Room does get a lot of noise from business above.
I was unaware I hadn't preordered breakfast as I received an email day before asking me what time slot i wished but when check in was told no breakfast available as more rooms than tables for breakfast available. Was offered 9.30am breakfast downstairs on first day but second day we were refused far from ideal for a family with children to be told to wait til 10am when public breakfast area opens! We actually had 3 rooms booked for 2 nights but only one room got breakfast stress free . Please consider making breakfast in your larger area rather than refusing families breakfast.

Great value for money. Did not eat thereas we were too late. We were offered cutlery if we decided to get a carry out. A nearby pub was suggested or a Mac Donald’s next door was available. Would recommend for a no frills stay.

There is much more here than a fleeting visitor will appreciate.
Montrose, and the surrounding area, is actually incredibly rich and immersive with so many wonderful places and features to discover along the coast and inland. The people are also lovely, warm and friendly.

Forfar loch walk was really nice.
Lovely places to eat. Definitely recommend Sizzling House, Mexican takeaway, very fresh homemade food.

Edzell is a beautiful place to stay, most people were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was adequate and although quite small was nice and comfortable.the shower was not great and very poor and the toilet would not flush properly without having to refill the cistern. The auto lights in the very dark hall did not come on unless we walked way past our room so kind of pointless for us. The breakfast room is in need of soft music or something as all we could hear was other people eating with their mouths open, this was not enjoyable. The bar also is in need of some music in the evening anything really to give it some life.

Arbroath is a nice coastal town, good size for walking...
Arbroath is a nice coastal town, good size for walking around all the main areas. Main shopping street a bit tired with lots of closed shops, but enough coffee, bars and restaurants. We used the Wetherspoons a few times which is always good value for money, and The Old Brewhouse at the harbour was a good sized hearty meal in small but nice restaurant/bar. The Signal Tower Museum is worth a visit for history on the Bell Rock Lighthouse. We walked the coastal path north, my husband walked about 11 miles to Lunan Bay, signposts were ok, but skirting around farms and small villages was long, but interesting. Montrose is also good for a visit, especially for bird watchers around the tidal basin and coastal rivers. All around is excellent area to explore and walk, we had good dry weather which is always a bonus.

Very nice place and lots to see.
Very nice place and lots to see. We went to Brechin Castle it was nice and good cafe it does meals tea & coffee & cakes & sandwiches of all kinds a lovely cafe. Plus it has a shop and garden shop. Brechin has a steam railway station with working trains we missed the train going away but waited for it to come back and will catch it next time. I drove around the town no problem and got parked no problem very nice place.

Had a lovely time in Arbroath.. was there for my 60th ..we had a fabulous apartment above the Bell Rock fish n chip restaurant …adil the host was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble … was cosy , well equipped and central ….we enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Lord Ruebens Wine Bar ..fantastic hosts Danny & Paul were fabulous.. also had a birthday meal at The Boatyard ..amazing ..weather was on our side so was fab ..Will be back !
