Breakfast (full English) was hands down the best breakfast we had in the UK. The family run hotel was intimate and cozy. Our room was a twin with exceptional decor and homely feel. The beds were amazing. I enjoyed having a beer in the afternoon with the locals and chatting to the fellow guests (some longer stays and some tourists like us. I arrived on a sunday when the main bar was closed however this wasn't an issue as there was someone waiting on arrival for me and accommodated me despite being late. Truly appreciated. We enjoyed pizza night on Monday. So close to all facilities - we attended church steps away on arrival, and there is a coop supermarket also within steps and all the town attractions.

Exceptional 2 night stay. As soon as we entered this hotel it felt amazing. It felt like we were entering a place that was meant for royalty and there were so many interesting ornaments and paintings for us to look at. The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The rooms were massive and spotless and had everything we needed as well as an amazing ocean view. Breakfast was delicious and well presented. You can really feel the pride and love that has been put into all aspects of this Hotel. Out of 14 other places we stayed on this SWCP holiday, this was definetly our favourite. Our highest recomendation possible!

James and Becky were amazing! So hospitable, kind, friendly, accommodating. Our rental car broke down on the hill in front of the Inn on the morning we were suppose to leave. We ended up staying an extra night, waiting 24 hours for the breakdown company. It could have been a very negative experience, but all was well because of where it happened and how helpful James and Becky were. Their breakfast is lovely, rooms are clean and comfortable, restaurant well priced. All in all a lovely stay. Thank you both. We appreciate your hard work and hospitable hearts.

Lynton is my happy place. We visit regularly. I would live there if I could. Lots of great walks. The northcoast cafe is one of my favourite places along with the oak room . The crown in is a good community pub along with the blue ball inn.

A beautiful part of Nth Devon.

A beautiful part of Nth Devon. If you enjoy walking and nature this is the place! Parked the car up, and didn't use it till we left- 4 days later! A lovely historical small village, with river, beach, and hill walks. Lynton is a 20 minute walk up the hill, very steep in parts, with cracking views across down into Lynmouth. Failing that you can take the steepest rail up/down which runs all day till evening. Once in Lynton, a nice stroll, either along the road, or take the coastal path to 'The vally of the Rocks '. A beautiful spot with stunning views. Lynton has lovely shops and cafes for brunch/lunch or dinner. From Lynmouth, you can take a lovely walk following the river, just beautiful to Watersmeet, where, you can grab something to eat, with a great range of food and drinks and sit and enjoy the the surrounding garden and view. The round trip of about 5 miles - can take longer, due to stopping by the river bank and just sitting quietly. Lots of historical information dotted around the village. The Stone beach is of set by the small harbour, which is again a beautiful spot to sit with local fish 'n' chips, watching the tide slowly come in/out. Lynmouth/Lynton - well worth the vist.

Eduardos cafe is excellent - lovely sandwiches, cake and pizza. They also do sausage rolls. There are a few art galleries and souvenir/antique shops to browse. The post office sells walking boots and clothing. Spar shop has a good deli. Whortlebury tea room is supposed to be good but we didn't manage to go in as it isn't open every day. Take a trip to Ramblers Rest tea room on the way to Lynmouth- lovely lunches and cream teas (but check opening times). Walk down to the beach and salt marsh - not a place for bathing but the scenery is spectacular. Go to Porlock Weir - the glass shop is great! There is a lovely cafe too. Take care with parking - pay on exit with a card. But beware - if the machine is out of order you may get a fine. Take a photo of the sign saying it is out of order to prove your case. Or you might be able to use Ringo parking app if phone signal is OK.

Dunster lovely people good service and the food in the Luttrell arms was good although it took quite a time and service average. We had breakfast in the hotel over the road from the apartment and it had good service with a very well cooked breakfast. First class quality and we were met in reception with a very good receptive person whom sorted us with in minutes and showed us to a lovely table looking over the Yarn Market. We can recommend the food & service at this hotel. The apartment was perfect, clean, tidy, modern with great facilities carpets immaculate and very good quality bed linen. The Host met us for the keys and was very kind. A perfect send off for my dad and we all Thank you 😊

I was Born and Bred in Cornwall and live in the Countryside, my wife and I first went to Exmoor approx 2018 and fell in Love with the place, the Moors, the Views and the place keeps giving if you are willing to explore, I expect the are far more places to visit yet but 2026 break was far to short to explore everything.

Dulverton is a real treat. A little town on the edge of the river Barle, offering interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. A great Bistro and a highly recommended authentic Thai Restaurant. Always lots of people about, but parking is always possible somewhere. Always something going on in Dulverton.

The Notley Arms is actually in Monksilver which is a tiny village in the Elworthy region. It is a pretty place but nothing more than a collection of picturesque houses, a pub and an ancient church. We didn't go to Elworthy itself.

We booked the accommodation for ourselves and our daughter and son in law. As soon as we arrived the place and area looked wonderful. The accommodation is of a high standard with everything you need and it’s central to areas you would like to visit ie watersmeet, Lynmouth , Minehead. We were not that far away from Exmoor which was lovely to drive through and stop to take photos, seeing the wildlife was the added bonus. Where the accommodation was the Exmoor Inn offered food and drink, plus dogs are welcome. We were there the first night and had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and professional. We will definitely be back

It is a spectacular coastline and the hotel is nestled in what is almost a gorge, tucked back in a micro-climate with a lovely garden and an inventive play area. The walks from the site (which is on the coastal path) are legion. Less well known, perhaps, is that a bridle path designed for carriages loops gently up from the hotel to the cliffs heading towards Porlock. This is rideable on a bike - conventional if you have strong legs - but we went up it with loaded e-bikes and were able to complete it easily (though at some cost in electric charge on the bikes). Though it is isolated, that's part of the appeal - an island of comfort in a splendid wilderness.
