Have stayed before and love the friendliness of staff the room and restaurant, if I were to complain it would be that the room services were stopped, but that wouldn’t stop me from staying, I’ll stay again next time I’m in England

The staff were very helpful. I had a room upgrade which I discovered when I went to my room. A very nice surprise. The restaurant is not open yet, but I could order food and eat it in the Bar or my room. I had a lovely stay. Thanks 😊

Stayed here for a 10 night work trip, great place to come back and relax, everything is well thought out and above and beyond with little extras. The bed is a sofa bed, however found this comfortable.

As we were embarking on a cruise I cannot really comment on Grays Thurrock as we didnt spend any time there. The Lakeside shopping centre offered a wide range of shopping and eating facilities and it is very close to the cruise port on the right side of the river.

Lovely village, good location for travelling, plenty of car-parking, good bar & restaurant, excellent choices of food, beers and wines. Quiet. Modern rooms and bathrooms with some lovely quirky designs. Looks ideal for larger party numbers too. Perfect as a base or as an overnight if travelling on through Essex, Canvey or Tilbury.

Pros:-

Pros:- The location of the property was within walking distance down the Fort Road to where I worked next to the River Thames. The hotel is also within walking distance to Co-op supermarket and the Tilbury Town centre. The rooms, bathroom and kitchen were superbly clean with new decoration. The way to collect the key was also quite top notch, with the key stored inside a password activated box at the entrance without the owner having to be at home. The WIFI was also top and stable. There was a TV in the room. Heating was also stable. Cons Not intended to be criticism but the owner may wish to consider changing the following aspects:- Partition a communal area for guests so as to not mix with owner's personal life; Provide communal breakfast, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrush, and; Be more generous with cutlery and plates and allowing the guests to use the hob and oven, not just the microwave.

The property was advertised as private bathroom, but it was a shared bathroom. the sheets were dirty, have not been washed for many months. There are no curtains for the windows, no fan, no hot water. The place was dirty and filthy. I would like my money refunded.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Royal Hotel in Purfleet. Upon arrival, the front desk staff took a photocopy of my photo ID and asked me to check in online while I was already at the property, requesting that I enter my bank details as part of the process. I found this request extremely excessive and felt very uncomfortable sharing such sensitive information, especially considering the condition of the hotel. The room I was given (Room 41, downstairs) had a strong, damp smell, and the bathroom had drainage issues; the water wouldn't go down properly. The overall cleanliness and condition of the place were unacceptable. Given the poor state of the room and the intrusive information requests, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my enemies. Collecting personal and financial information this way, particularly for a place in such disrepair, is completely unreasonable.

Worst experience of staying anywhere.

Worst experience of staying anywhere. The room was dirty and had damp everywhere. There was a bottle of lube left in the wardrobe. Chips in the drawer. The shower was freezing and there was no pressure. The window didn't close as the man that worked there said it was broken. I had a tummy ache so we called the number we were given. It said they were available til 11pm. I asked for a toilet roll. The man came, holding a toilet roll and said "mam why are you using so much toilet roll. You already had one" The toilet roll I was given was the cheapest you can get and there wasn't a lot on it. My partner said "yeah sorry I was ill". He said "how dare you disturb me, I have finished for the night, everyone has checked in already" My partner said "I apologise do you not work here?" He said "no my dad owns the place" We explained that we are on the M25 and it would be difficult to go get some from the shop and his response was "you are white and richer than me so should buy your own" We asked his name and he said Ali and his dad owns the place and he doesn't care about us. We went in our room and went to sleep. I was so tired. If you want a racist Indian fawlty towers then this is the place. If you go here please take your own everything. Smoke alarm hanging off the ceiling, lock didn't work. Never go here.

Stifford is an affluent suburb of Grays, access via a private road. Walking takes about about 15-20 minutes from Grays railway station. Unfortunately some of the streets are not shown on Google street view and the house number search was wrong on the satellite view. So travellers need to research in advance or email the host. There is a wildlife reserve nearby and different exotic birds can be heard flying overhead.

Let’s start from pluses- it’s a free parking in front of the house, the house is big enough and has big garden, it’s a good wi-if, big TW, and house is warm. Minuses- the house is really dirty, looks like they didn’t clean. Bathroom is dirty and not enough of towels, shower is broken, and water is coming calls or hot. on the kitchen they didn’t leave any towels at all. In the house you will receive the instructions “ if you don’t need the light turn off”. And that’s really sad, to tell guests what to do. This house need a big cleaning and to improve customer service.

The wort bnb I have ever stayed in

The wort bnb I have ever stayed in The other guests were violent and listening to the man committing domestic violence was horrid. It says no drugs or parties but when this happened the owner did not care or sort the issue out. The tenants became extremely loud and violent I had to leave and sleep in a carpark and police had to be called. Luckily they came quickly The bed was extremely hard also. Communication with owner was poor- when issues got really bad he did not answer. It’s more like a gross bed sit than a bnb Do not stay here!
