This was my first time in Ghana. Esther's Hotel was the first place I stayed – and actually the only one. No fancy lobby, no unnecessary flash. But from day one, it felt like home. Safe. Quiet. The courtyard is like a little paradise – flowery, well-kept, with art that shows local cultures. The staff are some of the kindest, most honest people I've met. And the food – so clean and fresh. I still dream about the chicken salad the auntie made. I really miss it!!!!!!!Thank you for giving me such a warm, real welcome to home.

Excellent choice at breakfast served by cheery staff. Good mix of local and international dishes on the a la carte dinner menu. I loved sitting out by the pool, but also working in the thoughtfully designed tables with power points and excellent wifi (much better than my subsequent 'business' hotel) in the shady garden area. My room in the annex had everything I needed, was very quiet and felt safe.

Please note that Accra is very expensive, especially when it comes to food. I ended up spending around USD 50 per meal at restaurants. I was quite shocked by the cost of living there. Even some Ghanaian people I met in Accra told me they cannot afford to eat three meals a day.

There is Palace mall around the corner but prices there are rather high comparing to roadside stalls. If you want street food experience you go to Osu night market or to street side stalls opposite of Accra mall. Haven't tried too many restaurants, strret food on the other hand was unbeatable in quality and taste. Kenkey with pork leg stew or jollof with chicken and shito sauce, finger licking. I learnt the best way to travel around is Bolt taxi or on foot. I wasn't brave enough for a trotro ride seeing how those mini-vans were degraded by lack of maintenance. People were mostly friendly but as a white guy I could tell I'm different. Thankfully I know a local very reliable person who happens to be also my girlfriend so I relied on her for most things. Lucky me I guess. Thank you.

I liked how clean it was in a very calm neighbourhood. There were local shops, a bakery 5 minutes away, a pharmacy and nail salon next door. We had a rental car so it was accessible to most places we wanted to go. It was also not too far from the airport. The host Eli was amazing. Although it says free Wi-Fi, it ran out due the fact we were streaming Netflix and this was not mentioned when booking or arriving at the accommodation. We had the lovely IT guy Richmond giving us additional Wi-Fi so that was great!

All I can say is that it is one of the nicest places I have...

All I can say is that it is one of the nicest places I have stayed, and the staff were all fantastic. For rest piece of mind plenty things to go see or do. the Party hard (name of venue) go karting that is 20 min drive was really fun. You can get a Taxi, but you have to ask Nee, or sort out yourself. motor bikes are a easy way to travel short distance but you can get transportation just enquire before hand so it can be arranged for you. Food at the premisses is great.

There are a few interesting sights in the city, and it is a really interesting cultural experinece. However, they are at the moment at the phase when they are badly overpricing everything for tourists with little added value. Be prepared for an African perception of time - 9 o'clock is not even an indication, you can start wondering at 10, be impatient by 11.30.

I stayed at Belrose Place in Accra for two weeks and overall had a pleasant stay, though there were a few bumps at the start. I arrived on a Sunday evening around 7pm, and first impressions weren’t the best. It took quite a while for reception to locate an apartment for me, and when they did, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned. I raised this concern, but was told housekeeping had finished for the day and would come the next morning. I booked the duplex apartment, and while it was nice, the living room looked quite different from the photos on Booking.com. That said, things did improve over the next few days—service got better, and I began to enjoy my stay. The staff were super lovely throughout, especially the doormen and housekeeping team—they really stood out. However, I do wish I had been given a proper tour or at least some orientation upon arrival. I had to ask around myself to find out about the gym, restaurant, and even the Wi-Fi password. It’s clear that this is a new development and still finding its feet. Hopefully, they take feedback on board to smooth out the guest experience moving forward. Despite the rocky start, I would stay here again—the location is perfect, very close to Boundary Road and easy to get a cab if needed.

Good location and apartment just as described on booking.com. Hosts are super helpful and always checks up on you and to find out if you have any issues. Beautiful compound. I recommend any of their properties for a short or long stay.

Accra is what you would expect of a developing country.

Accra is what you would expect of a developing country. New construction is everywhere and the more modern business areas are booming and clearly indicate progress the country is making. However there is also widespread areas and usage of small streetside pop-ups and large numbers of on street hawks, clearly in need of help to eke out a living. Open sewers line many streets, as if often the case in large, still developing areas. Traffic on the streets is congested and there are few traffic laws that actually get obeyed. Highly recommend use of ubers rather than renting a car, as they are easily available, arrive quickly, and are quite affordable, allowing you to avoid having to negotiate the roads. There are lots of places to go to enhance your understanding of the area though. I also experienced NONE of the concerns about crime that were so rampant before I got there. Using the ATMs was easy and safe and the people very friendly.
