The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, very peaceful and comfortable accommodation on the river. Very clean and well maintained amenities. This was the last leg of our trip before heading to the airport, a bit more expensive than some of the other options available but definitely worth it after backpacking around. Also the food and service was really awesome. Very happy we chose to stay here.

The people were amazing at this hotel. Mario, Wendy and Rosme were amazing. I arrived with my husband and three children, one of which was an infant. When they saw my family they immediately upgraded our room bc they wanted us to have more room and feel more comfortable with the family at no additional cost. The girls that work there were so attentive, they saw us drying our wet clothes and immediately took them and said they would do it! They were always sweet with my kids and even offered to watch my baby while I was eating. They were the most welcoming people and not to mention the beautiful scenery and grounds. I did not want to leave!!!! Very special place, pristine and gorgeous.

What a beautiful, magical place it is! Perfect for those who love nature, jungle sounds, peace and quiet. Great walks in the jungle, swims in the river and sunbathing by the dock. They also organize various tours if you can drag yourself away from your hammock:). My cabana was pretty and comfortable and the bed was the best one i had in guatemala so far. I stayed 3 nights and will defo come.back.

I loved my stay in Casa Perico! Its super calm and quiet. My room was beautiful and bright and the bed super comfi with a good mosquitonet. You can take the kayak or kanus to explore the river and there is a private swimming platform. The food is good and the prices are fine. The stuff is friendly and helpful.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.

Great spot on the Rio Dulce from which to visit other places on the river away from the congestion and noise of the towns of Livingston and Rio Dulce (actually Fronteras). The manatee preserve, the island of birds (Isla de Pájaros), Burnt Key (Cayo Quemado) and the canyon of the Rio Dulce are all relatively close. We enjoyed having lunch over at Mini-Mike’s Juke Joint on Burnt Key and at Casa Nostra in Livingston. Both of which have their own docks so we went directly by boat (arranged by Tenamit Maya for very reasonable prices).

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!
