Wow, what an amazing stay! Great service from the start. The woman at the front desk was absolutely lovely. She was so incredibly attentive and kind. The rooms were very clean- comfortable bed, AC worked well, nice hot showers with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and working TV. We also had to check out early for a tour and they stored our luggage and had a bathroom for us to shower and change afterwards. The lobby was also clean, always greeted with a smile and great service! Kareem was amazing. We had an issue with our tour and he went above and beyond with helping us. He also sent us a list of recommendations for the island. Very helpful and informative! Definitely would stay here again especially with the staff.

This hotel is amazing. I was traveling with my 11-year old autistic son and we had a blast. It's very family friendly. Food was wonderful. Staff was super friendly too. Our bedroom had a stunning ocean view. I absolutely loved their hours of operation for breakfast (until 11:30 am), lunch (until 5:30 pm), and dinner (until 11:30 pm), so this is the all-inclusive I'm talking about. We could wake up late, still have great breakfast, eat in the middle of the afternoon, and have dinner after 8 pm. We only ate at the La Fuente restaurant next to the reception. I also used their room service to order snacks and it was great too. Their snack bars are awesome and drinks are great. They try to make whatever drink you ask. The beach was great too. Super clean sand, warm water (even for December), and beautiful view. We also had a chance to walk around to other attractions. Great location! This was my third time in Cancun and now this is my favorite hotel!!!

The staff was so kind to our entire family but especially to my 2.5 yr old daughter. They acknowledged her when passing on the sidewalk and interacted with her while dining. Also, the Dominican Republic allows you special access to shorter lines when traveling with a child. This includes customs and TSA. It was such a nice experience.

Cancun is very American and a bit like a small Miami with a lot of waterfront hotels. Nearly everyone in the hotel & restaurant business speak English so it's OK if you don't speak Spanish. Ubers & Taxis are everywhere ( but UBER cannot pickup at the airport). It's also very easy & cheap to travel from Cancun to Playa, Merida or Tulum, etc. by ADO bus from the airport or city center. Cancun is a great starting point for Mexico travel, or just staying at a beautiful ocean front resort.

Photos of the city show beautiful buildings and churches and views but the reality is quite different. The narrow streets are full of noisy motor bikes and scooters and the people who use them have no consideration for pedestrians and other users. They ignore traffic lights and it is quite dangerous to cross the roads. Then if you walk along the walls which are quite safe then look over the edge you will see loads of rubbish dumped and also in the sea. There are litter bins but they are mostly empty. It is a shame because it is quite an attractive city, or would be without the rubbish and the noise. But there are some good points. If you walk around the Parque del Centenario, which is free, you will see Sloths in the trees just above you and also monkeys. You can visit the Islas del Rosario by speedboat on a usual bumpy ride which takes about an hour. It’s not cheap and unfortunately most of the beaches have been grabbed by private owners and hotels. There are some public beaches but they are difficult to access and the footpaths have very few signs, so its easy to lose your way, even though it is a small island.

If you stay in Punta Cana you need to stay on an all inclusive resort as there is not much in the way of bars, restaurants to choose from or find. The beaches are lovely with almost white sand, the weather can change very quickly. There are lots of excursions to book but not alot to do by yourself.

Very nice surrounding areas like Tayrona National Park and Minca both very nice to hike and enjoy. Santa Marta is a city I wouldn’t spend more than an afternoon in, the people were very friendly and the food in the restaurants was very good but the beaches were rather dirty and the city isn’t that nice, lots of homeless people and drug addicts.

San Andrés is a beautiful and vibrant island with incredibly friendly people and a rich culture. The beaches are stunning, with plenty of options for snorkeling, diving, freediving, waterskiing, or even parasailing. Getting around is easy—buses can take you almost anywhere, but we mostly used motorcycle taxis for convenience. We spent New Year’s there, which was magical with everyone on the beach dressed in white! Finding a restaurant on New Year’s Eve was a challenge we didn’t anticipate, but in the end we enjoyed a tasty burger from a street stand. Overall, the island offers a mix of relaxation and adventure, with vibrant local life, delicious food options, and plenty of water activities. It’s perfect for both exploring and simply enjoying the beach, and we would love to return someday.

If you really want to experience the “Pura vida” vibes, you can’t miss Puerto Viejo, a blend of pure nature and stunning beaches with good Caribbean life style and a touch of eastern night life! We stay at Sueños B&B and eat every day at restaurant Richisimo, with very good prices and food quality. We visited the nearby Cahuita NP and beach and in Puerto Viejo enjoyed the beach and some local shopping of natural products at the Saturday market! We loved it and wished we could stay longer.
