This hotel radiated from the kindness and good will of the staff. They were all extremely attentive, kind and professional. I became slightly ill while I was there and they took exceptional care of me. My mother couldn’t have taken better care of me. It was extremely reassuring. They kept the rooms very clean and everything was well cared for.

I stayed at this hotel for just over 4 months in total. Grounds are beautiful and are immaculately maintained. Rooms are well equipped and brand new. I can say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in India. Housekeepers do a very thorough job cleaning rooms. All housekeepers were excellent, but I want to mention Primela in particular for her good service. In the restaurant I want to give special thanks to Sovan and Lakshmi. They were very attentive to my needs. I am very grateful. I recommend Lakshmi for a promotion to a management position and I see that Sovan has customer service skills that are superior to others in the hotel. Also I want to say Thankyou to Michael for the special gift of dried bodhi leaves from the temple bodhi tree. Front desk, Shabaz and Jyoti are good. When I had a suggestion for improvement a short talk to the general manger saw that my suggestion was immediately implemented, so I want to give special thanks to him (I’m not sure of his name.) Many reviews complain of the poor approach road, and I was hesitant in booking due to these reviews, however when I arrived I found it not too bad at all. It’s a short walk of a few minutes from the hotel to the main road, and from there you can hail a tuktuk to the temple for a cost of around 100-150Rs (or 20-50Rs if it’s a shared tuktuk). I’m sure the hotel can also help arrange transport to the temple, but I never felt the need to ask them. Also this is a safe place for female solo travelers. Staff are respectful and they give you space to keep to yourself without disturbing you. Many thanks to everyone at this hotel for my most pleasant stay. I hope to return again, to my favorite room in your hotel, next year.

Eye-opener
Bodhgaya is a very historic place as you can literally walk in the footsteps of the Buddha here. However its a part of the state of Bihar which is the most underdeveloped and poverty ridden state in India. The extent of poverty and illiteracy was an eye opener. Except for the historic areas which are kept relatively clean, the city is dirty, with garbage strewn everywhere and no proper roads to speak off. Restaurants are very few and most of them don't even have basic amenities. Cleanliness and sanitation are not a priority in this state. Despite getting millions of tourists who generate so much income for the city, the government has done very little to develop this city and the only clean areas are the temple complex itself and some of the monasteries/temples in nearby areas. So its okay for a one time visit, but the extent of negligence of the government in providing basic civic amenities was quite a revelation even for visitors from other parts of India.

Wonderful little town in Bihar.
Wonderful little town in Bihar. Great for Buddhist and for the culturally curious. All sightseeing attractions are within short distance of each other, bring plenty of sunblock. Days can get quiet hot and nights muggy. Overall I loved it and you will too, Will be back soon.

For a hotel in this price range, the rooms were clean and nice (AC worked). The bedsheets could have been a bit better laundried (on two occasions there were stains left). Good complementary breakfast from 8 to half past 10. Overall very friendly staff (a bit indifferent at the breakfast venue). This is close to the new Bihar Museum which was important for us. As the hotel is in a backstreet, you are away from the hectic and chaos of main streets but still in walking distance to some good shopping and food facilities.

being newly constructed it is at par with any other good hotels in India. once our car enters the gate of this hotel every thing is neat and clean. but the last 5 minutes of the road before you reach the property are horrible and give the real picture of Bihar’s poverty and indiscipline . In a sense we feel guilty to stay here when just outside the condition of the residents is pathetic.
