Wow, what an amazing place! At the top of a mountain, right on what would be a ski slope in winter (but lush grass in Sept when we were there). Traditional, cozy, clean and comfortable. We were there between seasons and the only people staying, but the staff (one girl who seemed to do everything) was an utter delight and could not have been more charming. We ordered supper (simple but delicious) and breakfast the next day was enough to feed six (there were three of us). Added bonus - we were able to charge our electric hire car for free. Would definitely recommend, especially if you want to get the mountain experience without too much effort!

We had a room on the ground level with terrace and that was very convenient because we traveled with dogs. Room was cozy and warm with big bed. Bathroom is spacious and nice with shower, toilet, bidet, sink, hairdryer, soap, shower gel and shampoo. Room has TV, small fridge, safe, tee set and place to store items as well as place to hang clothes. Room is newly refurbished and clean. There is parking in front of the building. Breakfast was great and the owners are nice. Sutrio is very nice small village. Nature is beautiful and near by is Terme di Arta that we recommend for spa experience.

The staff was very kind and helpful to accomodate my requests. The location is very central and close to the ski facilities, restaurants and supermarket. The room was serviced every day. The breakfast included a buffet and fresh croissants.

Great location, great building, rooms look amazing and are a very respectable size. Motorcycles are welcome to stay in the courtyard. Breakfast was good. An excellent place to spend the night if you're on the road.

This place exceeded all our expectations. The area was incredibly peaceful and beautifully scenic – surrounded by nature and mountains, with breathtaking views in every direction. The interior design of the chalet struck a lovely balance between modern comfort, rustic charm, and homey coziness. We had a luxurious amount of space, and everything was spotlessly clean – both inside the chalet and in the surrounding outdoor areas. One of the highlights was the private indoor jacuzzi, and although the included sauna was a great bonus, we didn’t use it due to the hot weather. What touched us the most was that a place this exclusive and refined welcomes guests traveling with dogs. It means a lot to be able to enjoy such quality accommodation as a dog family. The only minor downside – and it really is minor – was the lack of air conditioning during hot days, which was a bit tough on our dogs. But we completely understand this, as the property is designed also for the ski season, when air conditioning simply isn’t needed. We can only imagine how perfect this place must be in winter! We are deeply grateful for this experience and would love to return.

It's a cosy place to have a two or three days of rest in a quiet surrounding. There are a couple of places to visit for a dinner and not much to do in the village itself - however as a drive-by or to have two or three cruises to the nearby attractions it is very good.

Sauris is lovely mountain village full of charm and very peaceful. There is a lovely church of St. Oswald that is 500 years old. Nature and views are magnificent. Lots of tracking rutes and not crowded with tourists!

I love this valley: the architecture, the sense of community...

I love this valley: the architecture, the sense of community, the lack of tourism, the mountains above, the history (clocks). But best avoided at the weekend when there's a lot of traffic, including noisy motorcyclists doing their thing.

A little small village in the Carnic Alps.

A little small village in the Carnic Alps. A couple of small restaurants and cafes with locals sitting in the narrow streets. 10 minutes walk will get you through most of the little historical parts. Few grocery shops are available as well. One should not expect more from such a tiny place. It is a great starting point for exploration of the Carnic Alps in the summer and for winter sports in the Winter, although in the latter case, you still need to travel couple of miles to get to the sky slopes.

Sauris di Sopra is absolutley beautiful!

Sauris di Sopra is absolutley beautiful! It’s peaceful and serene with gorgeous views of the mountains and plenty of hiking. There’s now a zip line but we didn’t have the courage to try, maybe next time! A very charming village with everything needed for a lovely experience and lots of hidden treasures. Everyone we met in the village was very warm and friendly. A beautiful place to visit!

The region of Carnia is very good for hiking in the...

The region of Carnia is very good for hiking in the mountains. A good tour is from Pian di Casa to the rifugio di Fratelli. You should visit the small villages of Pesariis and Sauris. Try the restaurant Inn Pik in Pesariis which has delicious dishes from the region.
