The hosts were some of the finest people we have met during our travels. Their kindness, coupled with their knowledge of the town and surrounding area, was refreshing. It's as if they are ambassadors for Italia! We loved the view, the short walk to the town and market, the sound of church bells, and the simply wonderful, homemade breakfast. We will return!

A wonderful old city with a lot of history and a lot of...

A wonderful old city with a lot of history and a lot of beauty surrounded by mountains in the impressive Appenines. The view from this apartment is fantastic. And this city is known for the Falanghina. For good pizza we recommend La Lampara.

Morcone is situated 600m + above sea level and is less than...

Morcone is situated 600m + above sea level and is less than half an hour away from some stunning places in the Matese Mountain range and the Altilia Archeologica site near Sepino. The village itself is super - we've just bought a house here as it's very quiet and calm with that genuine touch away from the crowds of other more well-known places in Campania. Once a year, there's an incredible re-enactment of the Nativity scene with the villagers all participating to recreate Bethlehem, the local trades and the story of the birth of Jesus. In summer, it's very cool and green! Be sure to have good walking shoes, most the historical part of the village is car-free and so pedestrian with steps up and down. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern city life and taste some divine food.

Amazing historic Italian town in the countryside. We found this town searching for a location to visit relatives who live nearby. We could not have chose better location to experience the history, beauty and charm of old-world Italy.
