The entire staff was extremely well trained, was always ready to help and all the time with big smiles on their faces. We did a mistake in our travel planning and arrived one day too early: they were able to book us a room at a nearby hotel (as Tratterhof was fully booked that night) and offered us to use all the facilities we needed. The food was fantastic, with plenty of options for children and adults, including excellent wine offerings. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the ski pistes (close by and with a free hotel shuttle) were good. After skiing, we could choose between an indoor pool or an outside infinity pool (both heated), family sauna, indoor playroom or cinema for children. Wonderful! This is a relatively small town and so easily walkable with lots of really nice local bakers, and shops selling cheese, wine, speck and chocolate - plus the usual supermarkets, pharmacies and places where you can get all your hiking and walking gear. Try strolling along all the narrow streets that lead off the main square to see what's there. A really pleasant and slightly longer walk to take is by following the path along the river to the nearby Neustift/Novacella Abbey where you can try the excellent wine they make there (the local grape varieties are Kerner and Sylvaner) and cheese.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nice and clean apartment. Even we only had contact with the host via the chat, the host was very helpful though. The location of apartment was perfect. It's located in the city center. This is a fantastic place to stay. We really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. We were able to rent good bicycles near by from Marcus and the local restaurant Glassl brau was so good we ate there 3 nights. Laion is a lovely little town, quiet and cosy.
Laion is a lovely little town, quiet and cosy. Several restaurants and a shop are available, but all the surrounding villages are easily accessible by car. There is a ski bus to the ski slopes, but you can also get there quickly by car. It's not crowded, it has an authentic atmosphere for those who don't like crowds and want to enjoy real country hospitality. It is a decent base for trips in the Dolomites, but there are better. I chose it due to availability and prices. While the city sits right on the side of the autostrada, the actual connections to it are quite far and take surprising long to get to.
