"We spent an absolutely awesome time in our budget double room which was indeed a manyatta-like roundhouse!. It was very private as it is set right in the dense bush full of birds and butterflies - you can't get closer to nature than that!! The cliff sand beach and the tree top dining area were just about 15 meters away. The whole wild compound has actually 2 stone cottages called "Blue Monkey Beach Cottages", and 2 "Wasini Island Bandas", and these four accommodations share the common areas. There was just another couple and we felt very much Robinson-Crusoe-like and really stepped out of our usual world (..and time!). We spent many most pleasant hours with our host Feisal and his dhow "Blue Whale" out at sea - in fact we loved the place and its hosts so much that we decided to soon come back with our children and stay in the big family cabin called "Banda Mlimani". If you love nature and get the credo "less can be more" - go for it!"
