A new and modern hotel with a spacious room, balcony, and large windows. Breakfast offered a choice of four options, and dinner was included with a good selection from the menu. The food was very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location — only a 10-minute walk to the ocean. Highly recommended!

"Eight days here, and checking out felt like leaving family." We've stayed at a lot of hotels. This one broke the mold. It wasn't the pool (stunning), the beach access, or the food (consistently excellent at every meal). It was the people. Jane, William, and Kelvin — and honestly the entire team — made us feel like returning guests from day one. Every time we walked back through the doors, there were genuine smiles, not rehearsed ones. They remembered our names, our preferences, our routines. That's not training. That's culture. Now the location — this is important. The hotel sits a little outside Diani center, and honestly? That's the best part. You wake up to monkeys playing in the trees and dromedaries strolling past. It feels like real Kenya, not a tourist bubble. You're close to the locals, the pace is slower, the vibe is authentic. We would never stay directly in the city after experiencing this. And you're not missing out on anything. Ten steps and you're at the neighboring resort hotels with direct beach access and massages — all the luxury perks without the resort price tag. Need to go further? John Jackson, our Tuk Tuk driver, was an absolute legend. Reliable, always in good spirits, and knew exactly where to take us. He made every trip an experience in itself. The food surprised us every day, the pool area felt like a private retreat, and the value? We double-checked the bill because it felt too good. We've had nice hotel stays before. This was the first one that felt like home. Five stars isn't enough.

Amazing place! We even got a room upgrade: we booked the cottage and we were offered to go to Hemingways suite which was absolutely fantastic, with a private pool on the rooftop. The pools, both the private and the shared ones, were clean and nice. The staff is very kind and always available: they can recommend good and convenient options for visiting the marine national park. The lodge is on a beach with mangroves: don't expect to chill on the white sand of Diani, it's completely a different environment, with mangrove ecosystems and lot of conservation efforts. The food was also good. We ate abundantly at dinner and breakfast, and the staff was available to satisfy our requests and exigencies. The restaurant on the terrace, with sofa, and lot of books, makes it a perfect place to chill and relax. You can reach the KWS office (to take the boat for the marine park with a 15-minutes walk through Shimoni Village, which is small but super characteristic. We highly suggest to visit it for a very local experience. The Shimoni Slaves Caves are less than 10 minutes walking. Strongly recommended and thanks a lot for such nice hospitality.

Diani Beach is awesome. Great beaches, good food.

Diani Beach is awesome. Great beaches, good food. Transport readily available - be prepared to negotiate and try not to get ripped off. I've been there several times. I've stayed at "Diamonds", "Baobab", "The Blue Water", and "Jo Baobab's apartments". I liked Jo's apartments as they were 5 minute from beach with security, parking, spacious, well maintained, fully equipped, and significantly cheaper than the hotels on the beach - by at least 50%. On the beach I hung out at the Blue Marlin for the beach/bar/restaurant on the beach vibe.

Msambweni is truly a hidden paradise. I loved its peaceful atmosphere, long quiet beach walks, untouched nature, and the feeling of being far away from crowds and noise. The people are incredibly warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even more special. It’s the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the ocean and nature.

Its a chilled out border town, with lots of diving - snorkle opportunities. For sailors it's our point of entry into Kenya and the immigration - customs is super quick and easy, hassle-free as opposed to the land point. But Id come again and stay longer as its very laid back compared to most of the busy Kenyan coastal towns.

Perfect.

Perfect. I wrote a previous outstanding review but Booking.com only posted my two comments from “suggested improvements”, which were inconsequential but gave a negative impression. The property was lovely, steps from an amazing white sandy beach fringed with coconut palms. I loved lolling on the comfy cushions on the roof terrace in the evenings. Cecilia who looked after us was amazing and a great cook. Her fish curries were to die for. The bed was comfy and the mosquito nets a great asset. The community pool was well maintained with a fabulous on site masseuse, Habiba. Amazing relaxing vacation would highly recommend.

The island was great. People very friendly. The only negative part was when I went for a walk on the island, one woman asked me what I was doing there. When I replied just looking, she told me to look cost money and I should come to the office to pay, which was total BS!

Easy to get around with Tut Tut's as they park outside hotels/shops etc. Wherever you stay always get an idea of price of tut tut drivers to/from as some of them will rip you off. Hidden Gem is Africa Pool - check it out. For the adventurous there is a climb down not for the faint hearted and certainly no health and safety. We did live dangerously. You can choose the more flat route but not wheelchair accessible. No facilities but you do not even need as the place is mesmerising. 2-3 hours. If your coming from Diani Airport there is a wonderful local restaurant called Baali Diani Airport, (same owner). Definitely worth a visit, call ahead for specific, alcohol drinks, or the huge fish platter.
