The Staff are super nice and fully professional. We were greeted with chilled coconuts picked from the palmtrees growing in the resort"s garden - absolutely Royal welcome. The breakfast was serrved on the verandah with a view over a beautifull garden. The cottage's decor pays heed to the islands craftsmanship and sublime esthetics. On top of it all, the Beach is only a few paces away from this five-star establishment. I am already planning my return.

We had a perfect stay! The owners and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The entire property is brand new – we were the very first guests! Everything is spotless and beautifully designed. The swimming pool is amazing and the whole place is just a dream. The breakfast was delicious, and we also had lunch at the property once – it was excellent and highly recommended. The hostess Chandi was so warm and caring – I felt like I was at home with my mom. Every wish is taken care of immediately – they truly go above and beyond. Highly recommended to everyone! We will definitely come back!

Jay R is a newly renovated guesthouse; in fact, we were among its first guests. It's very clean, and guests have access to their rooms, a living room, and a large terrace (not yet ready, but it will be very soon). The host is very kind and helped us plan our travel arrangements. I highly recommend it!

It was my second time staying here and it was as good as the first time around! Room was a decent size, cleaned every day, had hairdryer, safe, good water pressure, beach towels available, etc. The staff are all super friendly. Spa facilities excellent. Breakfast and dinner buffets catered for every taste - different variety each night which was great. WiFi was strong and reliable across the resort. The beach in front was fantastic for observing the local fishermen pulling in their nets with daily catches. Though you couldn’t swim in the ocean (waves too tough and an undercurrent), the beach was nice to walk along. It’s also a great location so that you feel a bit more secluded.

This was such a wonderful place to end our trip. The staff put us so at ease and made our stay incredibly relaxing. We were in the smallest room available, that is described as having no window, however it's much nicer than it sounds! There are glass doors which bring in plenty of light and the tree in the bathroom is enjoyable. We had some great meals at the hotel and the beach is less than a minute away. The hotel has close connections with a tour operator (Boatman) who was great and offered trips all over the area. Would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend this resort. Every single staff member went out of their way to ensure we were accommodated for. The food & drinks were also outstanding. Stunning pool and pool area, can accommodate all ages with ample seating area in sun and shade. Very clean and parking was also available off street. Very close to centre and beachfront was amazing. The local beach dogs we feel in love with, so for the dog lovers this was great for us but they also knew their boundary.

Trincomalee has recovered from the years of domestic strife.

Trincomalee has recovered from the years of domestic strife. there was a very upbeat air about the place. Everywhere we went, people generally looked happy, smiled or waved. Our hotel was on Uppuveli beach which is beautiful. We then had to return to Colombo Airport, which we were easily, and reasonably able to do on the Visit Lanka website. More locally there are masses of tuktuks. We found the Pick Me app very useful, which is a Sri Lankan equivalent of Uber

I liked the small hotel we stayed in on the beach front (Mithra Paradise) and the semi-private beach. A real gem if you're looking for a quiet romantic place. Much better than the big faceless commercial hotels. I would recomemmend the small guest houses in the whole of SL for this reason as the service is exceptional and they are usually family-run so they put a lot of love and effort into pleasing their guests. No mosquitoes in July. Avoid the dolphin watching 'chasing' tours. Loads of boats making a big noise and running over the dolphins. Poor animals. You only glimpse them for a few seconds and the boat ride is hell on your back. Try the snorkelling instead.

This location was absolutely beautiful.

This location was absolutely beautiful. There's lots to see and do and 3 nights wasn't enough to fully enjoy the setting. Yes you can spend time at the beach and go snorkeling, but you can also visit the Thiruskoneswaram temple and eat delicious food on Sarvodaya Road. We highly recommend Rice 'n' Curry Restaurant. As well as The White House for Accommodation and Rangan Snorkeling

it was great there.No worries about the sea,just the wind was blowing a bit strong.Com[any always around you,you are safe there.You can book snorkelling,boat rides,sea tour any time,many options available.saw about 200 DOLPHINS!fisherman always fuzzing around in the morning.Annoying fishing boats.

Trincomalee is a beautiful beach town, the beaches are amazing, lots of cultural things to do if you want, as well as lots of relaxation. Some great restaurants on the beach and in the town. The only draw back is it takes quite along time to get to (depending on where you are coming from) but that is the same across most of Sri Lanka

A much more peaceful beach holiday that at neighbouring Uppaveli, so if you want to get away from the crowds, it’s a perfect spot. The surrounding countryside looks beautiful too - I wish we’d have had more time to explore. We ate at Sara’s fish restaurant, where the seafood kottu & prawn curry were delicious.
