Being in the middle of nowhere, it gave us the true feeling of immersing ourselves in isolation and the wilderness! Our host is very friendly and helpful, even allowed us to do simple cooking in the kitchen. He also served us really delicious kefta tajine.

⸻ We had a lovely stay at this hotel in Foum Zguid. Everything was very nice and well looked after. We arrived quite late, when the kitchen was already closed, but the owner still brought us two bowls of their homemade soup, along with fresh bread and dates, all offered for free. He also gave us a bottle of water, which we found to be a truly kind and thoughtful gesture, especially considering the late hour. Breakfast was also excellent and we enjoyed it on the rooftop terrace, which was a really pleasant way to start the day. The place feels very genuine, run by people who truly want their guests to feel comfortable and at ease. The only small note is purely personal: my pillow was a bit too thick for my taste, and I realised only later that I could have swapped it with another one. That was entirely my own preference and not an issue with the room itself. We also had a proper hot shower, which can feel like a luxury when travelling in the south of Morocco, so that was very much appreciated. Overall, this is a really nice place with a friendly atmosphere and a very kind owner. We would definitely recommend it.

Very good location and scenery. Mustapha was very friendly. We went in August (out of high season) and Mustapha prepared for sleeping outdoors. A 1000 star hotel. Fantastic.

The place, Omar's family home since generations, that he transformed into a B&B is very genuine. No stuff to flatter tourists, just genuine. The cooking is absoutely at least one star Michelin. Omars's family is very pleasant.

The riad is absolutely gorgeous - it’s a historic building that is over 100 years old and the women who run the riad - the lovely Fatima and her wonderful mom - who are the same family that built the home that became the riad, are absolutely amazing. Honestly, anyone who wants an authentic experience in a Moroccan, Sahrawi home should stay here. The delicious home-cooked food, using all organic ingredients from the family’s farm, the lovely company of Fatima and her family, and the beautiful riad (not to mention the beauty of this lesser well-known part of the Sahara) make Riad Bounaylat among the best places you can stay in Morocco if you are looking for a real Moroccan experience. My family is half Moroccan and I can confidently say that Riad Bounaylat is the real deal when it comes to Moroccan hospitality. Fatima and her family will help you discover the beauty of this region while making sure you feel like part of their family.
