The apartment is extremly clean with beautiful decor and with fantastic functionality. Near small beautiful square witch great cafe bars and restaurans. Birgu is the oldest part of Malta and I do appreciated that it was calm place but just a with a few steps to the cost. I do recommend that place.

Excellent location, stunning views of Valletta from the rooftop terrace. A small local store nearby for provisions and just a 5 minute stroll to cafes, bars and restaurants. The apartment itself had everything we needed, although there are 3 levels and some narrow stairs that may not be suitable for everyone. For us we would definitely return.

The hosts picked me up front the airport late at night and sorted everything for me. They showed me around town and gave me valuable insights. Everything was perfect. They even took me back to the airport. The apartment is tidy and beautiful and in a great location.

This area of Malta is nice and quiet, but with good links to Valetta, which was a pleasant ferry ride away. It is not far from the airport or Mdina, which we wanted to visit. This was a city break for us, so we didn't visit any beaches.

Il Birgu - Vittoriosa, is in the middle of the tri-cities. It is a lovely and quiet neighborhood and it offers great restaurants, beautiful narrow walkways, stairs… be prepared for stairs! Bring comfortable walking shoes. Everything was rebuilt after WW2.

Senglea is the least touristy of the 3 cities, you really get a flavour of local Maltese life. But that also means that there's only no Cafe in town (only a Kiosk), no large supermarkets, only village shops that close between 12noon and 4pm. Most sights and prettier streets are in Birgu/Vittorioso - a 20 minute walk from Senglea. However, Senglea has several good restaurants on the water.

From all the places we visited in Malta (December so beaches were not in scope) we liked Vittoriosa the most. It is a perfect sample of Malteze architecture and way of life, away from the crowds. The waterfront is lovely and the Fort Sant Angelo is breathtaking. Definitely worh visiting!

Excellent place to explore the Three Cities.

Excellent place to explore the Three Cities. The waterfront is lively but relaxing. The fort is really interesting and worth a visit. Excellent walk around the walls. Going through the little park - starting from the Museum of War, it's a fine 10-15 minute walk to Karkara It's well served with buses to get to Valletta or major bus hubs to explore other parts of the island.

Much less busy than Valletta but that made it much more enjoyable. Plenty of restaurants and many more nearby in Cospicua and Birgu, which were only a few minutes walk away. Accees to Valletta was pleasant and easy by ferry and there is really no disadvantage in staying in Senglea, but many advantage.

Loved the little streets and the marina.

Loved the little streets and the marina. It was nice to walk around and look at all the super yachts moored there. The lovely square in the centre has cafes and restaurants as well as small shops and a bus stop. There is also the Malta at War Museum, the Inquisitors palace and the Fort which overlooks Valletta harbour. All worth a visit .

Ideal location.

Ideal location. Short taxi ride from the airport with bars and restaurants close by. Valletta is a few minutes away by ferry across the Grand Harbour. Short taxi ride to Mdina and Rabat cost 10 euros so well worth it. Cospicua has what you need at your door and Valletta and the island is very accessible

Birgu is, and always has been, a most important and interesting area of Malta. All the Three Citta are steeped in historic and modern attractions. The whole area is a good mix of old and new with more to come. It is central and a short ferry ride across Grand Harbour to Valletta. A truly great place to stay. Check out all the attractions and interesting places to visit. There are quite a number of good waterside restaurants and bars, both in Birgu and across the footbridge in Senglea. Please be aware what comes with history is historic structure. There are some short but steep footways. All are accessible, but with a little extra care.
