Very nice hotel! Clean, staff was very courteous and friendly. I was there with my 2 yr old and my husband. My other option was to stay at the Marriott but it was almost double the price than Hotel las trojes, definitely a great deal. Good prices and the hotel is very nice. The restaurant was great, loved the breakfast buffet! Would definitely recommend. Across the street is a shopping mall and lots of good restaurants, great location.

Went during the end of the San Marcos National Fair.

Went during the end of the San Marcos National Fair. The biggest party in Mexico. This hidden gem of a city is safe, clean, and NOT filled with international tourists. Do not expect lots of English speakers (though there were a surprising number who could communicate). Do expect tourists from other parts of Mexico during the fair (FNSM). Aguas has so much more than the fair, though, with the Museo de Muerte, Posada museum, and at least a dozen other local/regional museums (Museo Espacio, Plaza de las tres centurias, to name a few) The people are very friendly. The Centro area is extremely walkable with 100s of restaurants that do NOT cater to international tourists and at all price ranges. The Uber market is saturated with drivers, so anyplace you need to go is cheap. Mercados Terran, Juarez, and Morelos are experiences to walk through. There is a Costco and a Walmart. There are different "Tianguis" which are like a combination of Farmer's markets/strip malls on sidewalks all over the city. The Agropecuario is a site to behold, but can be a bit dodgy, so go with a local and during daylight. In the state of Aguas, there are 3 "Magic Cities," all within an hour or so drive. Calvillo is worth going to if ONLY to eat at Rosa Mexicana. San Pancho de las Carnitas, Cristo Roto, and all of the things they have to offer are extensively reviewed elsewhere, but all are less than a day trip individually.

Aguascalientes means hot waters or hot springs, so there are natural Hot Springs in town. Some offer massages as well. The downtown core is very scenic. The have nice cafes and restaurants, even found a vegetarian restaurant (only open until 5pm!) There is the National Museum of Death (Museo Nacional de la Muerte) really interesting!

I love the quite and calmness of the city in the centre and...

I love the quite and calmness of the city in the centre and is beautiful. The people is very calm and polite. I recommend people visit La Feria de San Marcos during the day because at night is very crowded and visit the Museums and assit to the plays in the Theatre is a wonderful experience and also buy the deshilado clothes, is a beautiful technique and the clothes made that way are extraordinary. In San Marcos Fair you can also try the traditional dishes and beverages of Aguascalientes or the typical candy from there. Calvillo also has traditional dishes thought is not in the city and is less populated. Always check the weather thought specially in winter and summer and travel day if you dont know the places you are visiting or if you go alone just as precaution. Overall the city is calm but the part I love is the centre because you can really know the place and walk and know very interesting people from different walks of life both nationals and foreigners. What I don't like is the gated communities in the North and South because their are mainly for people with cars and to get there walking is very lonely so I dont advise stay there specially if you travel by night, alone or with limited resources.
