"I visited Tlaxcala not as a tourist but with an eye to living there. Still, it has an amazing history and lovely historical buildings dating to the 1500's; it feels safe and small-town overall (although it is a sizeable city); local people were really nice; prices at restaurants and markets were reasonable and there is a lovely botanical garden on the river that runs through the town. My visit was overshadowed by the dismal Booking.com apartment that I was rented. It was dirty, cold and ultimately dangerous because of a gas leak. My photos here are of its kitchen sink, the cooking 'stove' and one of the many dirty surfaces. I am doing this because it may be the only way I can get attention from the Booking.com administrators. After some initial contact with Booking and the property owner I finally made a formal complaint. While I was refunded the two nights that I couldn't stay because of the gas leak, I never heard back on a general or partial refund for misrepresentation of the property and its shabby condition."

Location is right at the heart of Huamantla and we enjoyed experiencing the life of the city. The internal colonial covered patio is beautiful and very pleasant for meals. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was in the modern wing of the hotel, a large room with comfortable king size bed and huge shower room. There were plenty of bath and hand towels. We had a small breakfast table with chairs which were very handy. There was also a large desk in the room, and a large wardrobe.

A beaitifiul. Old Mexican Hacienda fully restored. We had a large comfortable room with a balcony Onsite . Restaurant was closed but plenty of eateriy options withn 5mim walk . 1 block away from the zocola.

Very nice town, it has interesting museums and picturesque...

Very nice town, it has interesting museums and picturesque streets. Prices are low and quality of restaurants - high, it's worth trying local food. Every weekend vendors of artisan sell their unique products around the main square.

Santeagueda was an abandoned hacienda until a few years ago.

Santeagueda was an abandoned hacienda until a few years ago. It's amazing what they've done with the place! The original stone is everywhere, and yet, it has a modern feel. Lots of shops, restaurants, friendly staff, and even live music. My family and I were there to visit family nearby so we didn't spend most of our time there, but you could easily enjoy a week with Santeagueda as your "homebase," visiting nearby Puebla, Tlaxcala, and their many attractions.

We found nothing special in Nanacamilpa.

We found nothing special in Nanacamilpa. It was a small Mexican town. We would not go back. Glamping Octli was very overpriced for the experience. The information on Octli indicated there was no food available. But was a cook who offered some food. The picture showed bottled water in the tent. . .not so! We would not go back.
