Overall very clean,no dust even upon the shelves.Hot water with good pressure,heating.No bad smells,No insects,flies,mosquitos.,Very quiet day-night.Perfect view to the fjord,from our balcony.We stayed off-season,April.The region is perfect for relaxing-fishing,has a bay on sight.Driving Risor 20min..All at the kitchenette works,big refrigerator.Good beds and comfort.Cabin maybe small and little old but all is very practical.Good sofa for relaxing.Dinning table and chairs.Tv works,connection to WiFi is good.Plenty sockets.Parking next to the cabin.Easy late check-in at 21.00.

Excellent hotel and very helpful and responsive staff. We sent them a query prior to our arrival as we were seeking connection to our family history, not only did they respond but also briefed and organised a connection with the local librarian who also assisted us . Great restaurant & bar onsite - excellent tasty local food. Rooms facing the fjiord with balcony was an unexpected bonus to watch the setting sun.
Friendly and personable locals, pretty town on the banks of the fjord and reaching up the hillsides. Would highly recommend!!!

Great wellness centre. Hotel is super clean. Comfortable beds. We were upgraded to apartment which is highly recommended and it had everything needs. Best breakfast I've eaten in all my stays in hotels. Friendly staff. Great location.

Arendal is a beautiful little coastal town.
Arendal is a beautiful little coastal town. Summer is the best time. Spring in Norway can range from raging blizzard to warm and sunny. I had it all in April / May. The place is teaming with great food too.

Grimstad is a charming little town with a lovely seaside atmosphere, nice views, and a pleasant marina area. It is definitely worth stopping by, especially if you are travelling along the coast. However, for a longer stay, the town felt quite limited in terms of attractions and things to do. The restaurant scene was also rather disappointing. The only place I would really recommend was Marina Bar, mainly because they served local fish and the food felt more connected to the region. The shops were cute and had some lovely items, but the prices were extremely high, probably due to the lack of competition and the town being aimed more at wealthy tourists. In nearby Arendal, similar things seemed to be at least 30% cheaper. Grimstad also felt more oriented towards Norwegian visitors than international tourists. In many restaurants, the menus were only in Norwegian, which made things a bit less convenient. Overall, it is a beautiful and charming place to visit briefly, but for a longer stay I think there are better options nearby.

Excellent camping site with loads of activities, making it impossible to get bored. Great staff helping us with all our questions. Kids Club is also very nice, especially laser tag and archery. Having Mineralparken nearby as well, brings yet more activities to the table. A bit further down the road is gocarting. I would recommend a trip to this place.

Due to a snow storm we were unable to make it to the boat in Kristansand and this was our luck. We were able to add 2 more bonus days to our holiday at the last minute. And a bonus was the stay at the very friendly hospitable hotel Lillesand for sure. Stayed 2 nights in the suite in the quaint, kest-decorated picturesque village of Lillesand. Highly recommended.
