United StatesWe wanted to break up the drive from Bergen to Oslo ranger than try to do it in one day. We had a more relaxing drive and saw a lot of Hardanherfjord this way. It was mid May so the skiers were gone, I crowded and inexpensive even with the cleaning fee. Great apartment, comfortable and well appointed.

This was one of my favorite stays when travelling in Norway. Even though it was off-season we were able to enjoy ourselves a lot. Our villa was very comfortable and complete, it had everything you need. I would certainly be back for ski season in the future.

Very spacious. We got a 3 bed apt as opposed to the 2 bed I booked. My kids had their own room. Apt was clean and close to amenities and nature. We wished we had booked an extra night.

We really loved the cosy cabin in the woods, with a great log burning stove, good kitchen with enough pots/equipment to cook proper meals (we did), and storage for skis outside.

Geilo is a ski town.
Geilo is a ski town. Skiing in Norway is more affordable than the United States and less crowded. Unlike many ski towns that I have been in, Geilo was pretty dead once the slopes were closed. There is no public transit within the city limits. Taxis are infrequent and expensive. If you stay for a few days, a car is recommended. We took the bus from Oslo to Geilo and the train from Geilo to Bergen.
It is spectacularly beautiful and the young people working at the ski resorts were very cool. There is a nice international vibe.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment last weekend. The owner lady was incredibly kind and responsible, making sure everything was perfect for our arrival. Parking was hassle-free, which was a great relief.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: clean, beautifully designed, and very quiet. It provided a peaceful retreat after our long trip and busy days of skiing. The sauna was a fantastic addition, offering much-needed relaxation and warmth.
Overall, we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a comfortable and serene place to stay. We will definitely consider returning in the future!

The downhill skiing is great for a party of mixed ability - you were never too far apart to meet up again. Nice variety of runs in Geiloheisen side. Less variety of runs in Geilolia but every run a great one. Being able to also set off on lots of varied XC ski trails is also a good selling point. There are a couple of good sized supermarkets in the town.
