Blagg yourself a room on the fjord side, wake up to a stunning view first thing in the morning. I asked and the Staff managed to find a room with a view, So much better than looking at the carpark. I have previously sat at the desk working, watching out of the window, people travelling to and from work via the ferry to Trondheim, an hour away by water, which I thought was really cool, so much so that I tried it this time myself. If you are travelling or visiting, hire a car and catch the car ferry rather than go as a foot passenger, it will allow you to explore, use the hotel as a base. A bathtub. Actual baths are like hens teeth in Norway, always take one whenever you have the chance, you never know when you will have the chance again. Mine was a year before when I stayed at this very hotel. Do worry, I have showered in between. Staff are helpful and polite. Bring your sunglasses for breakfast in the summer, huge panoramic windows in the restaurant and Norwegian summer days can be dazzling. Hotel is less than a hundred metres from the passenger ferry port which can be surprisingly busy. Being allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day after we checked out, rather than lugging an extra 23kgs around.
