SingaporeThe room was cozy and spacious enough for one person. The bathroom was clean and I appreciate them providing shower amenities. The communal fridge and microwave were a nice touch. There's a 24/7 supermarket directly opppsite the hotel and a hiking trail less than 100m away. I rented a SUP board from them and it was reasonably priced. Aleksandra was really nice. She set me up with everything I needed and gave me tips on where to launch my board. I wish I had paddled more but it was really cold and rainy most of the time during my stay.
The restaurant next to the hotel serves really good food. I had their fried salmon and it exceeded my expectations. I would have loved to try out more dishes if I weren't travelling on a budget. (Eating out in Norway isn't exactly cheap.) Their restaurant staff are also very friendly!
I definitely recommend staying at Yttersia Base. It was calming to just sit on the terrace of the restaurant or by the beach and let the time pass by while you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Senja.

GermanyThis place is truly magical. Mette put so much love and attention to detail in there that you can only feel right at home. We were very sad to just stay one night!
The entire house was beautifully decorated and heated to a cozy temperature when we arrived. The kitchen has absolutely everything you would need, the wifi is great and it was absolutely clean. You can even use the small terace in the wintertimes.

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was very spacious, in an excellent location by the water and in the middle of the village. We like to cook our own meals when we travel and this place made this possible with a huge, well-equipped kitchen. It had everything needed for meal preparation. This apartment had a front door and a back door with a picnic table right outside. Inside was a huge kitchen table and comfortable living room seating facing the water front. We loved the fact that we could walk out this back door and enjoy the beautiful harbor and fjord. Another plus was that there was a super market a couple of minutes walk away. We would love to stay here again.

Amazing views of the fjord! The food was delicious and the barn restaurant beautiful! Our suite room was gorgeous and modern. We went on a Northern lights tour with staff and went xx skiing and snowshoeing. We saw the northern lights dancing and will never forget it!

Comfort stay with beautiful view from the cabin. At night we were lucky to see the northern lights and morning we see the beautiful sunrise. Breakfast is great and we had our dinner at the restaurant. Food is delicious although not many choices.

A nice area to visit and so different from many places in...
A nice area to visit and so different from many places in Norway. The countryside is so different from part to parts on the island of Senja. The same with the local people, more quiet at the inner part/Eastern side of the island. Then more outspoken and louder when to speak to the ones on the Western side of the island.
Great place to visit if you are to lock for the Aurora Borealis, and also close to Tromsoe. Either by a car or just for a day-trip with different boats.

A very quiet and nice town.
A very quiet and nice town. People live and work there are very nice and helpful. The location is center of every scenic spot with short distance drive. The hotel has a restaurant, provide excellent breakfast and dinner.

Torsken is beautifully situated, but the road there is...
Torsken is beautifully situated, but the road there is terrible and ends in the village. When visiting other parts of Senja, you have to drive back and forth over the mountain on the poor road. Nevertheless, Torsken is definitely worth a visit, and the quality of the facilities offered by Senja by Heart is high.

small village, with supermarket. One restaurant was closed in wintertime. And the restaurant in the hotel nearby didn't had place to eat all the days we were there. So you need to cook at home..
But a great spot in winter to visit Senja, the national park. We saw reindeers and other wildlife in wild while driving through the area.

Nice place for a short stay.
Nice place for a short stay. Without a car you run out of options quickly. Smaller hiking trips and ski tours possible in the valley. Northern lights possible when there is no midnight sun. No supermarket in the village.

The cabin we stayed in was roomy, wonderfully provisioned, and exceptionally clean. The restaurant offers a full-selection breakfast buffet and a full-service dinner that includes a selection of regional fish deliciously prepared. The village is quaint and charming and has several local, short hikes that are walking distance from the hotel. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return someday to see the Northern Lights!
