Hotel Enai struck the perfect balance between comfort and high standards, all set in an exotic location that made the experience truly memorable. The hotel itself was beautifully maintained, with modern, clean, and comfortable rooms that offered a relaxing retreat after each day’s adventure. The excursions available were genuine highlights – not just standard tours, but real adventures that gave us a sense of discovery and connection with the surroundings. It felt like exploring, not just sightseeing. The food was consistently excellent, with a variety of dishes that were both fresh and full of flavour. Every meal was a pleasure. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were always welcoming, friendly, and happy to help with anything – it made the whole experience feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic stay. I’d highly recommend Hotel Enai to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable escape.

Fascinating experience. We were assigned a guide Savon, who grew up in the area and was a certified tour guide. He created our itineraries for each day. With his help, we saw all kinds of animals in the jungle, and took pictures through his man ocular. The night tour was most fascinating. There are so many unusual insects! Thank you Savon! We also liked at the pace, wasn't too intense, and there was plenty of time to relax. Food was very good. All three meals. Much more food than we needed. I appreciated the coffee being available early . The property is beautifully furnished and designed. With local woods. Very comfortable. Enjoy the hammocks.. Had a massage that was exquisite. This is an experience. That's worth every penny!

Great location on the banks of the river with lots of wildlife around to watch even between activities. Very clean rooms, amnesties and lodge facilities. The pool was such a great relief from the heat and a great place to watch animals pass by. Wonderful food and fantastic staff! Our guide, Chris was the absolute best and he made our stay extra special!

Regarding the town of Puerto Maldonado itself, I would have to say it was pretty unimpressive. We did find a gem of a coffee shop (Fauna), but other than that it’s a little bit rough and sad. Definitely the jumping off point for all of the lodges and excursions - but the town itself is not a highlight unfortunately.

Shintuyu Hot Springs has beautifully local engineered pool landscaped in natural environment, where I was able to watch monkeys eating in nearby trees, a humming bird extract nectar from bright red flowers next to the pool, beautiful butterflies of various colours flutter by. I visited waterfalls - one of which is the most impressive in my recent memory. Jhohan paid attention to my needs and is from the local area with lots of knowledge to share covering culture, plant and animal life, the water sources; river & hot springs.

A great city with a relaxed atmosphere, the people here are very friendly and helpful. Loads of options for eating and drinking at very cheap prices. Street food is definitely worth a try as are the tiny street corner bars for empanadas and a glass of some kind of juice. Try Flama Central on Av Cusco for great grilled meats. Hamburgo for a burger. Any of the bars for big bottles of Cusqena beer, pilsner, trigo, dorada or negra, they’re all great. Head to the ferry port and talk to the family running the bar there about a river trip with Edu, one of the sons who is a guide. After dusk you might get to see Owl monkeys a little further along the river bank. Again, ask Edu It’s easy to walk the grid system but you can always flag down a moto if you’re feeling weary. Head to the Cacao centre to eat or drink and you might see a family of tamarins passing through or an agouti.
