We loved everything about this hotel. It was located in the perfect spot, with parking and free access to the park where the pools are located. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable, and had a truly luxurious feel. We stayed for two nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The beds were super comfortable with great pillows as well. Best sleep I've had in Portugal so far. The breakfast was really great with lots of variety at the buffet. Staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

This place is an absolute gem! You can feel the love that has gone into every aspect of it - the hotel, the restaurant, the bar, the shop. The staff are all absolutely delightful. The village is peaceful and picturesque. There are several walks in the national park which start nearby. Magic!

Lake view, extraordinary friendly staff

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotels location cannot be beaten as you have stunning views of the mountains as well as the water. Being right in front of São Bento basilica, you are right in the middle of hustle and bustle, but without it being too busy.

The lady at reception was wonderful, so helpful and happy to chat despite our terrible Portuguese and limited Spanish! The beds were very comfortable and a great view from the balcony. The place was very clean and the breakfast was good. Would stay again!

Lovely staff, clean room, perfect location and great amenities. My daughter had her birthday while we were there and the staff went out of their way to make her feel special.

I recently stayed here and honestly, it was one of the most relaxing experiences I've had in a long time. The place is incredibly quiet – no traffic noise, no crowds – just peaceful, with beautiful nature all around. You really feel like you can disconnect and unwind. The hotel itself is in excellent condition – everything feels well taken care of. The room was spacious, the bathroom was large and clean, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly (which was a huge plus during the warmer days). I also really loved the pool area – it’s beautifully set up and ideal for lounging around without it ever feeling crowded. Breakfast was a highlight. It’s all homemade, and you can tell – fresh fruit, warm bread, and the cakes… wow. I’m still thinking about them. Best of all, there were no lines or waiting around, just a calm, easy start to the day. And finally, a special mention to the owner – such a kind and genuine gentleman. He made us feel more like we were visiting family than just guests at a hotel. That kind of warmth really makes a difference. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and a personal touch.

Nice view and terasse, good breakfast, good beds

Gorgeous art deco hotel at an unbeatable price. It's probably more in the Summer months but it was only $95 for 2 rooms for my aunt and I in March. Check in was easy and the host recommended restaurants and started a big fire in the beautiful fire place for us. Breakfast was included and it was very nice. Great experience overall.

Location and staff friendliness

I loved the pousada! The facility is fantastic and a joy to walk around, both the grounds and the building. The staff was so helpful and welcoming, from the front desk to the dining room. I felt welcomed and cared for. I would absolutely stay here again and will tell anyone I know traveling in Portugal to stay here!
