CroatiaTo stay in the hotel made us feel like a royal family. The location of the castle is fantastic. Quietness and peace. Our granddaughter enjoyed it the most. A mug of hot chocolate was served to her every morning by a pleasant waitress. The wellness area is a great spot. We will come back again soon.

SlovakiaHistoric mansion in the center of the Halic town with plenty of parking. The mansion is undergoing a reconstruction with a stunning level of precision with a selection of premium materials. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and a large bathroom. Wifi coverage was excellent. A large screen smart TV was available, not the usual hotel small screen TV with no functions. The breakfast was excellent with a very wide selection of meals and beverages. The breakfast buffet included real delicious coffee. Since the reconstruction of the mansion has not been finished yet, the breakfast was served at the beautiful Galicia Nueva Castle Hotel. Seeing this castle hotel was an experience by itself.

The hosts were super helpful: they know the area very well and are able to give up-to-date information and recommend places to go (or suggest modification to our plans) as well as the best way to get there (thus saving us valueable time we would have spent travelling). The place is surrounded by forest and there are no sounds of traffic, so we slept really well. Breakfast is tasty and when the weather is good, you can take it outside in the freh air and sun.
The extra touch to our stay was that the hosts offered to give us a better room in another building at no extra cost since our stay coincided with a big group of people arriving on the same day as us and the original room we were supposed to be in was in the bigger building taken by the group. I mean, the room was still there and unoccupied, but the hosts decided to give us extra privacy which was very considerate.

Very clean facility in excellent location right next to the castle with private parking. Spacious beautiful restaurant with a view on the castle and outdoor playground. The food was delicious and overall this place has a very warm atmosphere.

Literally a hole in the wall, in a good way, get away from cars, traffic jams, non-stop modern life. The best place to get a rest from busy everyday life. You definitely need a car there to get to Poprad or Revuca for grocery or restaurants. Really loved this place, 8 nights, would stay there for another 8 nights.
As of geographical location, a good place as a "Forward Operation Base" to explore Slovakia.

While walking along the main street, you can admire interesting historic buildings and have a great coffee and dessert. Lučenec offers an interesting combination of urban atmosphere and beautiful countryside in the vicinity far from major centers. Many churches and a restored large synagogue. In the vicinity rich opportunities of swimming, visiting old castles and nature reserves in the volcanic landscape of the Cerova Highlands.

I can't say anything bad because it was amazing comfortable. Everything was there what is needed. Maybe coffee for ex. 3in1 would be nice to have there which would have a small cost for the owner. 1€ aprox.
For 10 sachets. But i liked the tea that was there.

The town of the first Slovak college posesses the true spirit of Slovakia. You'll encounter here the etnic mixture typical for the area, will see the typical XX century architecture with some interesting older buildings and monuments, and visit a well-organized and tidy city center, everything surrounded by beautiful mountains which are really worth visiting.

Dedinky is a very nice and calm town at the foot of the hills of the Slovak paradise. The lake is great for swimming (though the water is cold) or for renting a boat and exploring the lake a little. The Dobsina Ice Cave can easily be reached by train, and there are several nice hiking tours starting from Dedinky.

It is a small, quiet village with good service. There are a few restaurants, a new cafe, a beautiful park suitable for walking, and a manor house that offers tours to the public. They also have a cinema there.

It's a small city which pretty well express the mood of...
It's a small city which pretty well express the mood of Slovakian/Hungarian province. While traveling by car, it's the good starting point for the nearby caves or parks. Good place to take a break. There's a supermarket and few restaurants with really tasty food. I was staying there for a week and with the trips around it was very good time.

Nothing to do and almost no restaurants or bars. Not a very pleasant stay here, unfortunately. The inhabitants don't speak English. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Even our overnight stay was already too long to be good.

Dedinky is on the south side of Slovak Paradise National...
Dedinky is on the south side of Slovak Paradise National Park. It has a "bite-sized" hike that takes about two hours (or three hours for an extended version). The hike includes metal ladders and metal platforms through the gorge. (Longer more adventurous hikes can be found to the north of the national park).
The reservoir by Dedinky village has boats for rental, alternatively you can go for a swim (after a hike)... the water temperature is refreshingly cold!

This is the kind of place to stay if you come for scenery...
This is the kind of place to stay if you come for scenery and happy to make your own plans. The scenery is exceptional. You can walk/hike; climb; paddle board, take a scenic train ride, visit ice cave without needing a car really. If you need a bigger shop or fuel for the car you do need to get out of the village though (and fuel was up and down a hill in the next valley so you’d better plan that well)
