The hotel is in the heart of the Medina, a big plus for me. My suite was comfortable and extremely spacious, a living area, a wardrobe room, a lovely bedroom and a large bathroom, with bath and separate shower. The reception team and room service were attentive and helpful and made sure I felt at home away from home. And finally, I enjoyed use of the steam room and dined well in the rooftop restaurant. If I should return to Tunis, I wouldn’t want to stay elsewhere.

I came back to Sidi Bou Said because I wanted to stay at Dar Said. It is an enchanting place with a magnificent location overlooking the bay of Tunis and it feels like being in a luxurious private home where every detail is taken care of fondly and adapted to the place. The furnishings are simply perfect. The gardens are delightful and incredibly peaceful. We will come back!

Everything was great, place, breakfast/dinners, atmosphere, hosts. Thanks to Dar Douads recommendation we used BOLT app to have fast, traceable and cheap taxi rides all over the city. Strongly recommend to use it’s service from airport which will cost around 20 dinars, not more. There is a great shop nearby to buy really nice honey, nuts, olive oil, etc… check the name of the shop with hosts

Everything went well right from the start. I received a great welcome from receptionists Imad and Sameh. The room was clean and wonderful, and the breakfast was really tasty with many options. The location is near the center and the old town. There are many restaurants and cafes close to the hotel.

I like Tunis, only thing is the he garbage how much plastic I found from the beaches.. Sid Bou Said is so beautiful with blue roofs and white houses... Also the Soukh in Tunis city is worth of the visit. Exotic place

2 nights should be enough to explore it all - the village, the sights, the beach. If you can afford it, in the village itself, but otherwise, there are a number of other affordable options all withing walking distance.

Loved the area although we were closer to La Marsa than...

Loved the area although we were closer to La Marsa than Gammarth. It felt very Tunisian, in that I felt the restaurants and shops were not aimed at tourists - and were all the better for it. It was a 20 minute taxi ride ( 20 TND ) into central Tunis which is worth the trip. Carthage and Sidi Bou Said are also close by ( 10 minutes away ) and are fabulous. Everything felt very easy, and authentic, we loved it.

The studio is squeaky clean, washroom too with all the amenities provided. Bed is comfortable, strong WIFI, hot water is adequate for shower, room temp is perfect for sleeping, generous breakfast and hospitality of Hakim is very much appreciated. Beyond customer satisfaction. Thank you. We really enjoyed our stay.The location is in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a solo traveller. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I will not hesitate to book it again if I happened to be in this country. Hakim and Carol merci beacoup.

Nice area.

Nice area. A lot of the shops and stuff are relatively spread out. Really nice people who genuinely help you. Taxis are a bit of a pain from the airport, as they were a little expensive to what I would have thought. However you have to bargain with them a bit.

If you're looking for adventures and more to see, Tunis...

If you're looking for adventures and more to see, Tunis definitely is not the place. Quite boring really - you have only the Souks in the Medina (which most of it is closed on Sunday). Definitely visit Sidi Bou Said - it is very beautiful place, approx 20 mins from Habib Bourguiba Avenue by car. Definitely bring some cash with you - this is the most common and used method of payment. Also, prices may be a bit confusing at first. Generally, safe for travellers I would say, Relatively cheap for food and drinks. Also, download the app InDrive for booking taxis -it's very nice and useful.

Sidi Bou Saïd is a magical place full of charm and light. 🌿 The white and blue streets perched above the sea offer breathtaking views. Everything is within walking distance — you can easily explore the whole village on foot, and even reach the ancient ruins of Carthage, just 2 km away. For food lovers, I highly recommend Dar Zarrouk and Le Bon Vieux Temps — two of the best restaurants in Tunisia, both offering delicious dishes and stunning sea views. 💙

Gammarth is a small village that may not offer a wide range of activities or sights, but it's a charming spot nonetheless. For those seeking more options, nearby La Marsa has almost everything you could need, including a small mall just a short taxi ride away—less than 15 minutes. The round trip cost, including tips, was under £10, making it an easy and affordable excursion.
