So much to do in this little town! Don't miss out on Sunday nights downtown and "Sunday School"! The folks who live there are friendly and welcoming. Fish Tobago Tours provide an amazing snorkeling excursion...I highly recommend them!
The trip to Mount Irvine was very good. When you have an excellent host, that's part of the success right there, and we certainly did. We stayed at the Tobago Hibiscus Golf Villas, and our host did everything in his power to ensure that we were comfortable and secure. If you want to go anywhere, he would call a driver who you pay his fare to take you wherever you want to go and he brings you right back. I recommend that you organize transportation beforehand as the prices for this is a bit steep. We went to Pigeon Point, took a trip out to the glass bottom boat and bathed in the Nylon Pool. The food is excellent, on or off the beach. It was overall an excellent experience
Got to Tobago after 7 pm, property is located in an area that is not necessarily easy to find or well lit. Must have waze if driving. Activities for young couples here are limited to the pool and beach usage. Tobago is a small island but you cannot walk to anything from here. If ambiance, food and in room stay is all you desire and most importantly you can afford it , this works.
The breakfast selection was by far our favorite part. They always had a wide assortment and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Any time we needed something the staff were eager to assist us. They all were very pleasant and beyond helpful. They did a wonderful job throughout our entire stay. The facility itself was stunning. We had no issues with our room or the grounds of the hotel. Our room was consistently cool with the A/C and very clean upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone on a long or short trip to Tobago.
I frequent the island often, at one point almost every other month & I don't get too bored in this area. I still feel that this area of Tobago is the most exciting for the small island. It's lively, caters more to tourist, more clubs & bars. Stays open later than most other places on the island. Jenny's open outside bar with TV screens, Jade Monkeys has karaoke on Wednesday, it currently seems to be the jumping spots for clubs/ bars. Shade Night club used to be the only main spot for years. Drunken Joe's a decent mid price eatery. Kariwak is a MUST for naturalist, health addicts and/or vegans. They grow their own herbs! The food is so pure & filling! Has massages, etc. A must see. Cost a bit more than local spots still affordable & worth it 4 fancy events, celebrations etc. Lots to do in this very small section of the island. Airport is located in Crown Point so no excuse not to stop and enjoy.
Buccoo is generally a quiet resort... until Sunday nights when 'Sunday School' takes place by the beach (a mix of beer, food, steel band, super-loud DJ and non-stop dancing - a brilliant experience)! There are a few shops and places to eat. The beach is lovely and a fantastic place from which to view the stunning sunset. It's a little out of the way, so easy enough to hail a cheap taxi out, but not always as much traffic heading back at the end of a night out. There are a few other beaches a 20 minute walk away - Mount Irvine being a particular favourite, with loungers provided for a small cost and a bar/eaterie/toilet and shower facilities available. The lady who does the food at Sunday School is there too Tuesday-Friday afternoons. I couldn't get enough of her food! And the roti stand is also by the car park. Fish Tobago Guest House can arrange many trips from Buccoo, such as fishing, snorkeling, island tours, etc. as well as car hire. They're really helpful.
Great swimming beach with a good variety of smaller unique local accomadations & eating options. The north of Tobago is great to get away from the more crowded areas of the south end. If you rent a car great spot to venture from to hike or explore remoter areas.
Can't beat the views from Castara Retreats, our apartment was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the restaurant. A short downhill walk takes you to the village and beach. There are a two or three restaurants but no fast food (yeah!). Be prepared for the walk back up the hill and stairs! Loved the surrounding nature and watching the birds from our patio. We spent a week there and enjoyed it, but splitting the week between Castara and another spot on Tobago would have been nice too. One thing, don't just bring bug spray like we did; use it! (at least from the knees down)
Castara is a lovely village on a stunning bay. The beaches are beautiful, with good snorkelling. A beautiful waterfall with a pool ideal for bathing is a short walk into the rainforest. Good restaurants, cafes, bars and shops provide a range of options for eating and drinking, with entertainment most nights in one place or another. The village itself felt very friendly and safe. In the airport, we overheard people who had been warned against leaving their resort compounds. That certainly wasn't the case in Castara: there are no gates and guards here, and we never felt anything less than safe, secure and welcome. Castara is also well located for trips into the rainforest, or for exploring the less developed, more spectacular end of Tobago.
I love Tobago, and all the other beautiful villages. But, "Castara" is paradise. The world needs more people like the people of Castara. Drop your shoulders, relax, slowdown, make eye contact, and say good evening, good afternoon and goodnight. Stop, slowdown, enjoy the lime, converse and drink a carib and stag. Great restaurants and food. Please don't ever change because I need somewhere realistic to run too. The greatest place to be.

The resort was built using the grounds of a historic sugar mill. this gives the location a very unique charm that differs greatly from other more "touristy" resorts you will find around Tobago at the same price range. The room was clean and all promised amenities were available. I had a reliable and fast wifi connection throughout the facility. All in all a magical weekend.

Nothing about the hotel. The location is good because Crown Point offers the travelers good experiences, places to eat, shop and Store Bay which is a good beach area. The airport is within walking distance if you arrive to Tobago by plane, otherwise is quite distant if you come by Ferry. BUT, I emphasize , the hotel is a horrible experience.

We liked how clean the property was, and the easy access to pools and the beach. The service was also very good. The only caveat was the taxi service to visit other places in Tobago. Their times for pick up needed to be more prompt. The delays were frustrating. The recommendation is to provide an approximate time that they may actually arrive.

Vish and Patricia were great hosts! They were very friendly and inviting. They gave us lots of information, tips and tricks on how get around to places and helped us avoid getting scammed. Our sanctuary is close to many tourist spots and very easy to get around. It is a very safe neighbourhood. Definitely would book again when visiting Tobago!

The location is what makes this one of the best places to stay in Tobago. The view is just breathtaking!!! For nature lovers, the mountains make for a great hiking experience. Taylor, the host, is an awesome person that cares about his guests and gives you that one-on-one service that is not found at any of those 5-star hotels!

I was meant to check in with my family of 5. My family was unable to travel to Tobago until 2 more days. The staff was really nice, and accommodating to my request to move their reservation the two additional days without extra charge. The landscaping is beautiful. Free form pool with a waterfall!

Ms. Candy was always available for whatever our family needed. The village has easy access to nice food and the beach views from the apartment is gorgeous. If you are looking for a rustic and not very touristy area of Tobago, this is the spot for you.

The location is outstanding!! We absolutely loved this place. Check in was a breeze, staff was helpful and friendly (especially enjoyed meeting Jody), coffee and breakfast were delicious. Castara is a delightful spot and there was a bonfire on the beach Thursday night, along with a steel pan orchestra and moko jumbie. We spent a little time driving around Tobago but were eager to return to this amazing place and we were truly sad to leave. We would have extended our stay here had there not been a penalty for canceling a booking at another property in Crown Point. We cannot wait to return to Tobago and will certainly stay at The Naturalist again!!

Friendly staff and the beach bar attendant made sure we were fully hydrated no matter what or where we lounged on the beach, he found us. The omelet chef still impresses me at breakfast time and she always serves with a smile. My three year old just started wearing panties and I was happy that toilet facilities were located at my convienience for this reason. Also supervising my toddler was easy as the private beach and pool were well facilitated with lounge chairs and umbrellas. I have been to this hotel several times and it would be one of my top three hotels to stay in whilst in Tobago.

Our stay at Castara Retreats was a real treat. The small wooden houses are interspersed throughout a lush, green mountainside giving you the sensation you're sleeping in the middle of the forest. The rooms are clean and well appointed with spectacular views on Castara Bay. We never missed the 5 PM happy hour at Caribbean Kitchen where the only thing better than the cocktails was the company of the other guests, Porridge, Jeanelle and their staff.

The quiet clean surroundings and the well manicured greenery. Also loved the infinity pool which was relaxing day and night time. The view of the ocean although not very wide added to the ambience.
