I was only there for one night but the welcoming was amazing I absolutely loved the receptionist (I am not sure but am told he is called Johnson ) and bellboy who checked us in they always had a smile on their face, the gym was well equipped clean and their trainer was amazing , the restaurant was beautiful breakfast with a lot of variety the staff were helpful. Our stay was AMAZING

The main issue is getting to and from the hotel. I went to the university and back — it's only 13 km, but it takes about an hour due to traffic. Overall, the visit was good, but the beds are too firm. I would recommend the hotel, of course, because it is good. However, the restaurant on the 8th floor should offer more dinner options around 50,000 TSH.

I liked the room and its facilities... Things were just in order. I wish I had a lot of time in Dar for me to enjoy the other facilities of the hotel. Sad that I couldnt even wait for breakfast as my flight out was 6am.

It's not my first time at Serena, but the other times I couldn't use any of the amenities. This time I used the Gym, the sauna and enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this hotel, and the feeling is great. The rooms are not new, so shower and wc could be improved. But the room is huge, the service is excellent, like it is expected in a 5 starts. Small courtesy like preparing your room for the night, plenty of complementary water, very nice view to the garden and sea. The gym is excellent. Small details like having a smart TV that connects to our phone are also a plus. And they were very friendly to allow me a late check out considering I was taking a late flight, so it allow me to take a nice shower before leaving. The hotel is general is not a new style hotel, but you can feel the tradition and a mix of Arabic and África. There's a lot of people coming from outside to use the restaurant and that gives some extra life to the hotel. The other times I was not so impressed, this time I loved it. Thank you to all staff.

I spend three night together my son and i feel like home , and honestly is not easy ,an expecial in the big hotel Reception, bar ,restaurant ,food ,everything was AMAZING . I really liked the hospitality from stuff, cleanliness and variety of food. Kelvin the waiter, Ferida the housekeeping lady were exceptional not forgetting Maria the breakfast lady. We loved them for the duration of our stay. The pool was always clean and my sister was always there enjoying it.

Hiring and driving in Dar is no joke!

Hiring and driving in Dar is no joke! If you don't have African driving experience, avoid! If you have driven in the Congo, you might make it. Traffic jams and road conditions means a one and a half hour drive to Bagamoyo took three hours. Humidity and heat takes its toll on car air con.

The city is just a perfect African city, mixed with modern...

The city is just a perfect African city, mixed with modern facilities and traditional scenes and sights all round. The people are amazing; friendly, informative and welcoming despite language barrier (many do not converse in English at all). I will recommend the city to someone who loves a hot and sunny weather / environment. The clothes market is also amazing with lots of items from all over the world.

Dar Es Salaam is a vibrant city. I was there for work for about 4 days. The city is undoing major construction facelift on highways, so expect some delays moving around. The attraction areas are great.
