AustraliaWonderful place to stay in a beautiful setting. Lots of flowers and tropical fruit trees. A lovely view of the surrounding area. As far as travel goes in Africa it is close to Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Tarangire National Park. We based ourselves here for four nights and we loved it as there are plenty of different areas to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The staff were amazing and did everything for us. We loved the wooden huts and slept well at night. Food was great - ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SwitzerlandAmazing experience at Turaco during our honeymoon! We travel quite a lot and can in good conscience say that this was one of our best hotel experiences.
Daniel, the hotel manager, is the definition of hospitality. He made us feel so extremely welcome that we came back for another night after spending four days in the Serengeti. All the other staff members were also great, very kind and respectful. Special thanks to Kelvin, who was our safari guide for one day and went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable.
The rooms are very spacious, nicely decorated, and spotlessly clean. It's also great to have a chimney in the room, as nights can get quite chilly during winter. The park area is also beautifully maintained.
The food was delicious, with different four-course meals to choose from every evening. Additionally, for our game drives, they prepared great lunchboxes for us.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our Ngorongoro Crater game drives. It truly felt like a home away from home.

SpainThe appartment IS Big enaugh for two families. The design IS amazing with a lot of lovely details. They have really done a very good job. The personal treated us very well, offering every day new food for our breakfast. The swimming pool IS clear and clean, and It even iluminate and night. I strongly recommend this place to everyone. One of the best lodges during our safari! The staff was incredibly friendly, and we had great conversations with them. Their attention to detail was outstanding. They even helped me to get my toothbrush back from another hotel :) Good was so gooooooood.
The pool area was amazing, and the views from the lodge were breathtaking.
I don’t understand some of the reviews saying the tents are dark—you can literally open them almost all the way around without worrying about mosquitoes, as everything is covered with nets. The bathroom had a fantastic shower, and everything was spotlessly clean.
We truly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer!

Karatu Sarina is a n one night stay was not in our reginal schedule. But wonderful staff. specially the head chef well deserves a pay raise. We notice the dinner & lunch he had his own touch of cooking food for guests. We are a group of 4 two ashian and two American and we all enjoyed the food.

Karatu is a good base for Safaris and smaller excursions.
Karatu is a good base for Safaris and smaller excursions. The village itself hasn't much to offer (or at least the eastern side). There is a KFC though; Karatu Fried Chicken, which has very delicious chicken.
A little further to the east is Mto Wa Mbu. It has quite a lot more cultural things to offer for tourists.

Karatu offers resorts and staycations through a range of properties. Make sure they are at least 2Kms or more from town, as the town area is too dusty especially during dry season. Only the Main Road is of bitumen, most of the side roads are muddy and kicks up too much brown dust.
