The host Denis is a very friendly guy, sharing all information of the island. Very good breakfast. We all eat together like a big family sharing our travel experiences. From the veranda its like in a cinema watching the fisherboats coming. The fishmarket is nearby and we get fresh fish for supper. Thanks for the nice stay.

This hotel was lovely - comfortable, clean, and peaceful with great views and stunning sunsets. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff were all fantastic, welcoming, and helpful. They even sprayed my room with mosquito repellant every night. They have a small menu, but the lunch and dinners were very good - highly recommend fish and ugali, and the pizza.

I stayed for 6 nights and was travelling alone. Mohammed and his team really looked after me! Organising a couple of days out, as well as making himself & his car available whenever I needed it.

Location is simply stunning - and beautifully quiet. Nature at its very best. The lodges were very simple and perfect for the location. We were supremely well looked after by Adam and his team. The food was all local, fresh and beautifully cooked. Pemba Lodge really is one of a kind if you are looking for a simple, natural getaway. A truly amazing place!

A special mention to the Managing Partner, whose presence and personal touch make such a difference. You can feel the passion for the hotel in every detail. The accommodation is spectacular. Our bungalow right on the beach was simply magical, with its private jacuzzi, incredible views and the most amazing sunsets and sunrises. Waking up surrounded by nature, with the sea just in front of you, is an experience in itself. The food deserves a special mention too: beautifully prepared, fresh, varied and delicious, with the setting making every meal even more special. And then there is the location — Pemba Island, away from everything, surrounded by turquoise water, nature and absolute tranquillity. It feels like a true hidden paradise. We have stayed in many wonderful hotels around the world, but Fundu Lagoon is in a league of its own. For us, it is the best hotel in Zanzibar, without any doubt. An unforgettable experience.
