Wilfried and his family are absolute gems. We had the best stay there, loved sharing our meals with the family and getting to know more about the region through the eyes of a local. Wilfried also helped us organise a day trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for my partner’s birthday gift. It was certainly a highlight of our time in Africa.
The views from the bedroom were stunning, we spent some time on the balcony just reading and watching the lake. The sunset was beautiful.
The cooking was all homemade and delicious with a mix of local recipes and international recipes.
The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure.

Esther and her husband Gideon and their son Andrew plus his wife are such lovely gems, who make this place special and rememberable. Anything we needed or asked for was arranged for us or we were helped with it. The place is very clean and offers even amenities like a whole soap bar. I felt also very safe on the property and my room. And the breakfast Esther herself makes is delicious and could rarely be finished because it was so much! Wifi was rarely spotty but I feel that's more Africa than the place itself. The views a short walk from the place and in Kisoro are beautiful. Also Andrew can answer most like any question about the place and tours. It feels like we got a home away from home! Thank you for everything and see you next time! 🫶🏾

This place is truly a hidden gem! I stayed 3 days 2 nights, wish I can stay longer. What makes this place so special are the staff. From the manager (pick up me at the town and send to the resort by boat), the boatman, local guide, chef, helper and all in the resort. This resort strategic location is perfect who love quiteness and really into the nature. Trust me once you are here you dont feel like to leave.
The staff will serve their best to you with smiling all time. You will feel almost like at home.
Thank you so much Nyamunyonyi Lake Resort for your great hospitality. I will definitely come again!

They upgraded me to a nicer room for free since the nicer rooms weren’t full! The double enclosed room I stayed in was really nice. Big shower with hot water, a nice deck with a desk and chair, comfy beds. The restaurant made good food. The property was gorgeous and right on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You could walk to the Rushaga gate in 10-15 minutes. They had a beautiful deck overlooking the forest and meadow. The staff was very friendly and helpful and shared about the local culture and history around the campfire at night.

Absolutely everything! It is just like the photos however those can’t capture the stunning views from the island, the friendly staff or wonderful sense of peace! I stayed in a treehouse, very cosy, comfy bed, mosquito net, hot shower & lovely view from the balcony. The birds in the morning were something else! The lovely restaurant area was a great place to sit and read a book as was the « Sundowner Deck » with sun beds, a great place to swim from or have a drink as the sun sets. The food was plentiful and good. This place is absolutely magic! Just don’t come expecting western mod-cons eg: you’ll need to charge devices while the generator is on between 6-10pm, there are some insects and if you shower too long you’ll run out if hot water - this is an island in remote Uganda! Oh and be warned, there is a steep path and sone steps to most of the accommodation..
