Really nice staff supporting in any case. We could use the garden for BBQ and playing. Really nice Charlet. We regret that we only stayed one night.

This was an exceptional experience. We intended to stay one night, but within 30 minutes of checking in we booked 2 more nights, and then on the 3rd night we booked another night. A one night stay turned into four nights, and if it were not for other obligations we would have stayed even longer. A beautifully restored property, each room is unique in style and all are wonderfully decorated. Newfane was the perfect location for our visit to southern Vermont. Go for breakfast at the Newfane Country Store, and the burgers at the nearby country store in Putney are excellent. Don't miss the nightly chorus of bullfrogs seranading from the pond ajacent to the car park. Simply mesmerizing! We'll certainly return as soon as possible.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, in a lovely lounge and the staff were indulging us with homemade granola and brownie "bites". Also they had more than one type of milk 💃💃 Our room was fantastic! The view was superb! We also appreciated the fridge in our room with the welcoming water ( picture of bus got here accidentally and I can't get it off..)

Wonderful impressions and an absolutely enchanting atmosphere. Snow was falling, the entire hotel was covered in white, and everything around felt like a winter fairytale. You step outside and your car is right there — everything is so convenient and well thought out. We were truly delighted with this hotel.

I am an older man. Consequently, I like old-fashioned standards. What I received at the Catamount Motel was a good old-fashioned friendly, courteous welcome, which is important after a long drive, as it makes you feel like you have come home…along with a clean, cozy room. I am writing this from another motel that, sadly, does not measure up to my experience at the Catamount. I highly recommend the Catamount. May I suggest to remember a tip for the housekeeping staff, as they work very hard. You can adjust the temperature of the room, which is very important in Bennington, VT, which can get down in the 20s or less in the winter. As for the showers, the water is hot and pressure fine. By the way, my favorite room is #17. Ask for it, if you can. In short, I found the Catamount to have found a way to maintain the standards of the past while providing great service at a profoundly reasonable price…(did I mention to remember to tip the housekeeping staff?!). Lastly, I want to mention that there is a Citco Gas Station next to the motel, so that you can easily fill up and get back on your trip.

This lovely old style motel was unbelievable! We had a huge double room, with lounge, kitchenette and monster bathroom with spa bath as well as biggest shower on our trip! Dinner in pub restaurant which formed part of the complex was excellent- the biggest and best seared scallops ever! All staff were very welcoming and this was a great way to start our fall trip oif a lifetime. Thanks to all!

There is little to see in Williamstown itself, apart from the campus of the college, which is less architecturally pleasing than (say) Amherst. Nonetheless, it is an excellent base from which to see the Berkshires and southern Vermont.

We chose Manchester at random and we're very pleased to find that every place we want made accommodations for our dog as well. We found the restaurant to be very good and the price is surprisingly good. When in the neighborhood be sure and check out The Lincoln family home near Manchester, Vermont is Hildene — the former summer residence of Robert Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s son

Quaint New England town filled with history.

Quaint New England town filled with history. Key in Revolutionaty War and helped VT join USA. Had considered Canada at one time. Ez to navigate around town. Getting there can be rough on some very loaded down roads. Restaurants are often locals. The Blue Benn Diner (it appears) is THE top fav eatery of visitors & locals. May eateries close before 2100 (9:00 PM). Hungry late? Limited to Fast Food Chains or Henneford Foods mostly. Old car ("Classics") Enthusiasts love Bennington Events sponsored by Hemmings Motor News (HQ). On some days 200 to 300 cars & buffs can be seen in town; carefully organized for orderly public visiation. There are a number of religious sites/svcs in a generally irreligious state. Something for almost all perspectives. Weather can be abrupt and violent. Check forecasts closely.

Lots of good dining options-we liked Anchor House so much that we went two nights in a row! We were lucky enough to stumble upon Wild Clover Weaving, with stained glass, weaving, local woodworking and glass blowing. Karen (owner) and Moss (her hilarious dog) were really fun to talk with. What a talented artist!

Restaurants, Manchester House of Pizza is excellent and in a newer type building (they are closed in Sept. and on vacation), Mulligans. Ice cream at Arlington Cow creamery, but few flavors, hot dogs just ok there. Plenty of farms to buy items from and take home with you. Upscale mall there is just ok and has gone down hill, not enough buyers I dont think. New Shaw's there. If you go to this location, you have to like to drive around about 10 miles to get to store, restaurants etc.

We chose Serenity for a one-night stop on a driving trip mainly because it the price was incredibly low compared to surrounding available accommodations. We found the room very comfortable and the bathroom clean and functional. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful, recommending very good restaurants in the vicinity among other things. We will surely stay there again should we ever travel their way again.

North Adams has a lot of interesting things to seen like Mass MOCA. It's an old mill town trying to develop into a more dynamic artsy place. I love the river andnold buildings and its plucky spirit.

West Dover is a charming New England town.

West Dover is a charming New England town. It is smaller than some of the surrounding towns, so options for restaurants and other options for entertainment are limited. However, there are other nearby towns that one can easily access and enjoy. West Dover was quiet with minimal traffic. We would happily return

Perfect little getaway for our family.

Perfect little getaway for our family. The kids (both 16 yes old) loved it! They enjoyed the lounge where they could watch the big screen TV, play pool and relax with family. Also the view from the patio was beautiful. We also enjoyed the BBQ grill on the deck and shared a nice family dinner in the lounge without interruption. They have a basic continental breakfast but coffee is available 24/7, as well as microwave. The innkeepers were great and were very helpful in finding local things to do.

Two days and one night was perfect.

Two days and one night was perfect. Went to Williams College Art Museum and the Clark Art Institute. Did not this time go to MasMoca, but it is nearby. Also saw a great movie at the cinema. The only issue was pretty much everything closes by 9. We hoped to grab dinner after the movie, but ate cheese and crackers in our motel! That was our own bad planning!
