South AfricaRorkes Drift B&B is ideally located. About 2km from the Rorkes Drift Battlefield and on the road to Isandlwana. We found the rooms delightful, the food delicious (we upgraded to full board) and even did Christmas lunch here.
The staff are all local and were very friendly and engaging.
Most of all I loved that the B&B is part of Khula Education and the Charles Aikenhead Innovation Hub and all profits go back into uplifting the local community. If you are socially minded and love sustainable non-profits, this is the place for you.
Not only is the accommodation and food excellent but the cause is very worthy and I loved being able to play a small part in helping uplift this beautiful community. I would definitely choose Rorkes Drift B & B again.

Everything about the place is memorable and we cannot get enough of. The reception by Phumi and Lindokuhle was warm, friendly and informative excellent service from the entrance. Our room 206 was clean and smelt fresh, our bathroom felt like it had not been used by anyone before. The two guys from the ZIPLINE;Simphiwe and Sibusiso are proffessionals, from the gearing up,tutor instructions up to the last landing platform. They took us step by step and were very careful. Before the Zipline we went for Quads by a very patient young man Phumlani. He also took us through the process first before gearing us up and did not rush us through the trails the 2hrs felt very little. After the day was done we got to relax at the Raptors bar with Mcebo who has a thing with cocktails. Every order we made came out exceptional. We definitely going back. Almost forgot the kitchen!!!! the waiiters were sooo attentive. The chef himself came out to ask us about his creations... Perfect every time.

In a perfect location, the amazing view overlooking the vast valley from the deck is all to yourself, where they set up the dinner for us.
Each one of the meals were all very satisfying , just the right taste
And not to mention, the superb Safari experience guided by experienced team, who knows it all. We saw a big herd elephants, cheetah hunting, brother lions eating their prey!
This indeed luxury lodge of exquisite taste is yet cozy with very hearty hospitality.

Nambiti hills was an amazing experience for myself and my partner. We were fortunate enough to experience incredible sightseeing during our game drives with our guide Joe who was extremely experienced. All the staff were so kind and friendly, and the food was both healthy and delicious. Its truly a little gem.

Second stay at this beautiful lodge. The staff is friendly and helpful. Amanda was extremely helpful. We will always choose Grey Goose as our preferred choice in Newcastle. WhatsApp communication is great and all expectations were met.

I understand that Ladysmith is an old town ,but ,I was very disturbed when I saw shacks right in town ,there are other areas in CBD, that were dirty ,in Small towns like Ladysmith ,we are expecting orderly and clean places especially in CBD. Municipality must enforce the by laws.

Excellent and varied game viewing with a highly knowledgeable and likeable guide. Wonderful setting with exciting game viewing from the public areas of the lodge. Well managed from top to bottom. great staff team - genuinely friendly and not over the top. For a small lodge the food - breakfast, lunch and dinner - was excellent and varied. We travelled a very long way for this visit, were really sad to leave.
One warning - it is not suitable for children and this should be no surprise - it is a genuine game lodge!

The city is a great stopover on the way to the Drakensberg Mountains (Giants Castle or Champagne Valley) plus it is only a short drive to the Wagendrift Nature reserve and Moor Park.
Good town to stock up on supplies before heading to the mountains.

The location of Van Reenen is a) convenient and b) a beautiful part of the world. The scenery is fantastic. The town itself could do with a good lick of paint and a rich and enthusiastic developer of historic buildings. There are a couple of very pretty house which are well looked after. Across the road from the petrol station is "The littlest Church" where we stop for breakfast. Fabulous - both the church, view and breakfast.

there was very little that impressed me and certainly not value for money.
roads to the resort are terrible with many potholes .
weekend buffet was really good but a la carte for the rest of the week is mediocre with some items not available.
the complete resort needs a revamp .
no effort is made to entertain guests
hot pools were really good but there should have been refreshments available nearby ( 300m ) to get a cooldrink.

Everything we needed was there, the lady was very helpful. We had a little challenge with hot water but the place is nice quite with animals and lots of trees and flowers. if they can improve on their drive way.

We enjoyed the company of our tour guides who took us to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift and explained the battles that took place. Mphiwa Ntanzi and Douglas Rattray were so informative that it felt as if you were reliving what had transpired so many decades ago.
Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and Dinner were at Fugitive's Drift.
So much food, that a person was putting on weight :)
A standard vehicle can get you around Rorke's Drift, but it would be better if a person had a 4x4.

I am deeply concerned and disappointed regarding my colleague Leigh Hall’s stay at African Sky Newcastle Inn on 29 Jan – 30 Jan. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable. While showering, the bathroom leaked directly into the bedroom, indicating a lack of proper sealing and poor plumbing. To make matters worse, the room was infested with ants and cockroaches, and my colleague even found a cockroach in the general room area.
As long-time supporters of your establishment, it is extremely disheartening to witness such negligence in hygiene and basic maintenance. This experience is not acceptable, and unfortunately, my colleague will not be returning. I urge management to urgently address these serious issues for the safety and comfort of future guests.
