I stayed in the Captain's Cabin. It was cozy, clean and decorated as if inside a wood boat. Great location within walking distance of everything you need. Frank was available to answer questions and Ivy was super helpful.

Thar fact that there was no electricity on the day we arrived and no water the next day, which was not the fault of the facility, made it a challenge. The breakfast was excellent. The staff friendly, the parking for my vehicle, a bit small. The bed was very bouncing. Not a good rest. The property is beautiful, yet it needs attention.

The photos on the websites are definitely not a true reflection of how the place actually looks. Had I seen the surroundings and how dilapidated the buildings looked from outside, I would never have booked. I also arrived at "dead man's door". Nobody in sight for atleast 15-20 min. I actually thought I had been scammed. When someone eventually arrived, they were friendly and helpful.
Once I checked into my room I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was old but neat and tidy. The bedding and towels smelt absolutely amazing. There was coffee, tea, sugar and powdered milk available but unfortunately only 1 coffee sachet was given. I had hot water in the evening and morning which was great. I was given a torch for when load shedding starts. For the price paid, it was okay for a quick overnight stay. I do just think some effort needs to be made to the outer appearance as the location already looks dodgy. I don't know if I will book there again. This will be my last resort if other places aren't available.

We love the nature surrounding Dullstroom - the trout...
We love the nature surrounding Dullstroom - the trout fishing and the awesome golf at Highlands Golf Estate (a must for any golfer!). There are a lot of choices for eating out in Dullstroom - add Mrs Simpsons Restuarant to your list of places to eats.

Been there a few times.
Been there a few times.
So only decided to stay in Dullstroom , to break a trip back home.
Did enjoy our dinner at Mayfly, also bought somethings from shop across the row.
Breakfast at Rose , was good, coffee excellent.
