The hotel sits well off the main road in its own valley. The accommodation, level of service, quality of food and the scenic surroundings made for a great 2 night stay to finish our 3 week trip. The walks on the estate were great.

Lovely place and setting. Would have liked to spend longer there and see it during the daytime. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a lounge with fireplace was more than ample for us as a family of 4. The restaurant had the most amazing chunky chips.

The house was in a spectacular location with beautiful scenery and amazing hiking trails. We will definitely come back here again and stay for a bit longer. If you look for a quiet getaway in a serene setting, this is the place to go. The main lodge is stunning and the breakfast was really good, staff there was very warm and friendly.

Aesthetically pleasing with a warm, quaint ambiance.

Aesthetically pleasing with a warm, quaint ambiance. Not too far from Johannesburg or Pretoria. Love the shops, restaurants, selection of activities, whiskey tasting, little pub experiences, and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dullstroom is a lovely, worthwhile getaway.

It was my birthday.

It was my birthday. We went to Goodersons Kloppernheim for trout fishing as we enjoyed our last stay there. A lot has changed in 2 years. Fish are fed every morning by the maintenance guys. We could see the trout but they didn't bother to go towards our lures as they were well fed. Food in the restaurant was sub-standard. Standards at Kloppenheim have really deteriorated. As hotel guests we were even charged a "Dam Fee" of R170.00 knowing full well that we would never catch a fish. We suspect that the trout are reserved for special guests and therefore not fed during their stay.

We love Dullstroom and have been coming here for years.

We love Dullstroom and have been coming here for years. The town is quaint and small, with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, craft shops, bars and lovely places to visit. The scenery is great and the people are friendly. There is a market on Saturday with local goods and odd's n things for sale. The surrounding area has many troutfarms and the scenery is beautiful.

The photos on the websites are definitely not a true...

The photos on the websites are definitely not a true reflection of how the place actually looks. Had I seen the surroundings and how dilapidated the buildings looked from outside, I would never have booked. I also arrived at "dead man's door". Nobody in sight for atleast 15-20 min. I actually thought I had been scammed. When someone eventually arrived, they were friendly and helpful. Once I checked into my room I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was old but neat and tidy. The bedding and towels smelt absolutely amazing. There was coffee, tea, sugar and powdered milk available but unfortunately only 1 coffee sachet was given. I had hot water in the evening and morning which was great. I was given a torch for when load shedding starts. For the price paid, it was okay for a quick overnight stay. I do just think some effort needs to be made to the outer appearance as the location already looks dodgy. I don't know if I will book there again. This will be my last resort if other places aren't available.

Dullstroom is a fantastic place to visit.

Dullstroom is a fantastic place to visit. There are many great restaurants in close proximity, even fine dining options. Trout fishing is their claim to fame, and almost all restaurants have some form of trout dish in their menu.
