Beautiful home, short walk to many shops & restaurants in Clarens. The kitchen, lounge & dining rooms were all open-plan space that was perfect for our family trip to spend time together in especially those rooms. Loved the indoor bbq-area next to the kitchen. The home is beautifully decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Big garden that the kids enjoyed. Amazing views of the mountains in the distance.

We were friendly greeted and immediately felt so welcome. The whole house was so beautifully decorated, clean and smelled so nice. Everything was working properly and in good condition. The linen and towels were clean, soft and fresh. Everything was just awesome, and we had a great stay. We will definitely go back soon.

The room was incredibly clean. Things were put in place for items in the room to be cleaned daily if needed. The owners were incredibly accommodating when booking the room. The room and whole area had a homely feel to it. Even with other people staying close, there were never any noise issues.

Pleasant small town which is basically a village green with shops, bars and restaurants arranged around it and extending a hundred metres beyond on the main road so it feels compact. A busy but good atmosphere early on a Friday evening but ample parking and a good number of enthusiastic car guards who seemed to be officially organised. A high proportion of arts and craft shops and a good choice of pubs and restaurants with at least three brewing companies having premises there. Outstanding location at the bottom of the berg so great for hiking and other activities. We ate at Kooperasie. the food was good rather than great and they had a great selection of their own brand beers and an artiste performing ;ate afternoon/ early evening who has a good repetoire. Would go there again and certainly to Clarens again

Cleaning staff serviced my room every day and very helpful
I admired the good old antique furniture on the hotel
What I did not like:
No coffee facilities inside rooms
TV in room poor reception and only two boring channels
One evening waiters were cold to me and ignoring me when asking for menu and I waited long before they served me

A place away from the hustle bustle of a city, take your food as there aren’t any eating places during weekend.
Beautiful time with family and board games.
Wish we could stay longer.

Clarens is a favourite destination for us.
Clarens is a favourite destination for us. We've stayed for a week and also for a night. Always really happy we're there.
Lots of great shops - we always buy something unusual. Very sad that the CR Swart Museum has been hollowed out and is now a tourist painting venue but hey.
Clarens is growing and will soon become a permanent spot for wealthy retirees.

Bethlehem is a small town.
Bethlehem is a small town. It is not far from CLARENS and GOLDEN GATE. You can drive to these two places in less than an our. We spent the whole day in CLARENS and bought some few items. We had our lunch there and walked around without fear of being mugged. There is a very good security; there was a security company patrolling around.

What a beautiful little town!
What a beautiful little town! The CBD was quite busy (and I imagine during the Holiday Season it would be even more busy) but once one is a block or so away from the CBD, the town has such a laid-back atmosphere. If you want to relax and recharge your mental batteries after a busy year at work, Clarens is just the place!!. Also some wonderful restaurants, although some of then do charge ridiculous prices for food and drink (ask me about my R85.00 for a glass of draft beer at a restaurant that shall remain unnamed...). Shops around the CBD also seem to be well stocked, so one shouldn't really need to travel to Bethlehem (the nearest big town) for anything but the most out of the ordinary stuff
