I stayed 3 nights in Beside Still Waters.
It would have been better to stay much longer. The property is beautifully laid out. The view of the lake is marvellous. The house is a very good starting point for various excursions. I stayed in the Upper Deck Apartment. It really had everything I needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The rooms are very tastefully decorated. It is a tranquil area. Every morning and evening the birds will sing for you. Ronelle and Stephan are very friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you for letting me stay with you. I want to come back

The beautiful house and it's lovely colorful interior, the stunning view over the beach from our room, the great garden and it's direct location at the beach! What a wonderful house this is!
Some further information about the b&b: rooms are big, beds are comfortable, breakfast had everything you need to start into the day, staff was also very friendly. We did a very long walk on the beach and will never forget this perfect stay!

The whole experience from being met by Bernard and his enthusiasm of art. It was like being at home and not in a hotel. Breakfast looking over the breakers and looking out hoping to see the whales and dolphin’s kept my eyes wandering from my wife. To looking through the vast glass windows making me feel that I could just step out onto the 5km of sandy beach. Breakfast and evening meals were exquisite, and well presented.

You will find whatever you want in the room from makeup removing wipes, to body lotion, the linen was very clean and the room was extremely comfortable and nice. It was right in front of the beach and the location was perfect. The whole beach house was amazing

The Spar in the Village is very well stocked at all times.

Pomodoro is great.....excellent pizza's and the lasagna was one of the best I've had. Also great for people watching!
The Girls....had lovely prawns here, although the wait for the meal was way longer than expected.
Hoeka Toeka in Hoekwil was a great find....a fun, eclectic place with great service and excellent food.
Pilipili in Sedgefield.....so awesome to find a place where you can sit with your feet in the sand, listen to live music and eat magnificent pizza.
Buffalo Bay for the best beach!

Though a province in our country SA, the Western Cape is...
Though a province in our country SA, the Western Cape is miles ahead in terms of all things pertinent opposed to the rest of our provinces. Beautiful, extremely clean, police are visible, the beaches are well managed and security checks all over. Garbage bins placed all over, and therefore no littering. Everybody follows the rules and abides by positive structures set in place for only our well-being. A town I am seriously thinking of buying property there and possibly retiring there in the near future.

place was stunning, however when i booked was noted we had to vacate the place between 8-12am, we had cleaning staff demanding we leave
at 9.30 so they can clean as new tenants arrive at 2.. we were intending to leave at 10, they could not wait and insisted to invade our space. very unnecessary as the cabin was kept as we found it. i think the maids must
understand we are the paying customer not them. bit of a spoiler.

have a close family and have had wonderful times have memories... luv that.

Recommended for those travellers to do a quality stop over or spend some quality time together for a couple of days. Beautiful view of the sea and the sunset is amazing.
Then you have Nerinne and Danie to make you feel at home.
You have all the facilities right there to braai and kuier.

Relaxing little town full of friendly people and out of the mad rush that often accompanies other Garden Route locations. Fantastic beach, albeit quite a wild sea, so be careful when you swim. Lovely drives around the back of the town and plenty to do if one desires. Several relaxing small restaurants to eat at and a Super Spar if one needs to stock up. Close to George if one wants/need to go shopping (although why one would want to whilst on holiday is a mystery to me). Perfect holiday retreat for couple or families.

George appeared to be a nice small town.
George appeared to be a nice small town. While entering through the highway, there are a few patches that appear kind of unsafe and disappointing, but most part of the town is good. The nearby places like Victoria Bay and Mossel Bay (didn’t visit) are good.

The accommodation was awesome, the reception super friendly and informative. The view was unequaled. It was a most memorable stay. The meals at Dutton's Cove were amazing. So glad that we chose Herold's Bay as a destination and Ozone Apartments as our host. The hike to the cross and the view from there was breathtaking. We were even blessed to see well over 300 dolphins in 2 consecutive days and 2 whales. Will definitely re-visit.
