Felt very welcomed by Elize and Rocko! They even spontaneously picked me up from the bus station in the morning. Room was very clean and well-equipped. I feel like the pictures don’t do justice, way more beautiful in reality. Location-wise not perfect, but with a car easy to get everywhere and a safe area to go for a run. I will definitely come back!

The place has an excellent location, on the river, and a beautiful garden. The very large pool was great pleasure during the hot days. Bedrooms , garden, restaurant and terrasse are beautifully decorated. The owners and the staff are just great. We felt very welcome, and we got all the help we needed as our car was broken down. Got a lift to the garage and car rental. We stayed longer than expected and everyone was friendly, helpful and looking after our well being. We could request for breakfasts and most delicious dinners. We will go there for sure again if we have a stopover in Upington. It can be highly recommended.

Xaus is a special place, a step towards giving the San Community their dignity and land back. Our proud San guides were terrific. They are so passionate and knowledgeable about their land and its animal life. Donovan and Koos really made us feel welcome and taught us many things about the long and proud history of the Bushmen people. We will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Upington.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Upington. We were there for a school reunion and also took the opportunity to explore the town and surrounding area. A definite highlight was Deli on Main, where we had breakfast twice — the food, coffee and overall experience were outstanding. We also visited Red-Ox Restaurant in Upington twice and the Red-Ox Restaurant at Kanoneiland, situated at Oranjerus Resort, once. All three meals were excellent. It was a wonderful visit, combining a special reunion with discovering some of the best that Upington and the surrounding area have to offer.

we went to Kanon Eiland.

we went to Kanon Eiland. We had a brunch at Kanonnetjie, was really lovely. The pies were amazing and Petro the owner was very pleasant. We bought saltanas, raisins and quite a bit more. i would highly recommend a visit.

Askham Kalahari Trading Post has (almost) everything you need. There is really only one place to eat, Diamond T - but it was great. It was nice to chat to Tertia and her sister -Magda. There are two refueling stations. Interestingly - There are more guesthouses than permanent residents (only 38).

If staying for 2 or more nights would highly recommend a visit to the red ox restaurant at the orange rus resort on the other side of the river for lunch or dinner. Great setting right on the river . Good food too.

The hotel is well run with comfortable beds and very good rooms. Service was excellent and the value for money is very good. The pool was a life saver in dealing with the heat and so was the aircon in the rooms

The town is dirty ,people must be punished for throwing trash anywhere, people are smoking in public places, But overall I love Upington.I love the mall.I love to at Beantree the staff is quick,friendly and on point . It was very easy to go around ,yoh but I would like to see more marked taxi.Cause taxis charger are very very high ,some taxis charge 150 per trip from town to the mall.NO ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

This is a perfect town to stay in to base yourself between...

This is a perfect town to stay in to base yourself between Augrabies Keimoes and Kakamas. Bazalel Wines is a Boutique Wine Cellar that offers a coffee shop and wine and brandy tasting at a reasonable price. Drive to Augrabies Falls and enter into the small town off Augrabies and see what it is all about, on your way on this drive take in the awesome Quiver trees, the wineyards and all the local living. Die Mas van Kakamas is a Wine Cellar and Restaurant not to be missed. They offer beautiful settings over the wineyard and wine, gin and brandy tasting at a reasonable price - the food is very good! Keimoes Padstal is also your one stop shop if you are pressed for time or also Die Pienk Padstal. Keimoes Spar has everything you need if you dont want to go into Kakamas. Then there is the "Kalahari Vleishuis" in Keimoes....Flip se Rib is a deboned and spiced lamb rib and for those that know... daar is niks soos 'n staan rib in Noordkaap nie! Keimoes is also a great option to stay if you are on your way to Namibia.

The setting of the accommodation is beautiful, the rooms are stunning, huge bed. Just a little upsetting to see the deterioration of Keimoes town. Definitely spend some time to sample the wine in this area.

Pink padstal marvelous food, great service The trip to the falls was great also great food Orange river cellars, bought lots of wine but host was a bit rude Die Mas was well worth visiting, felt very welcome and Randy was so great we went back 2 more times Beer brewing company was a total disaster Went to see the tunnels our host, Mrs Henriette Theron was fantastic she really knows her history really marvelous person we did not want to leave

The town is well maintained, and to our pleasant surprise, the roads were in excellent condition and free of potholes, which was quite refreshing. The area also appears to have a very low crime rate, creating a strong sense of safety and peace of mind throughout our stay. The people are warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Augrabies Falls was absolutely stunning, and the moon walk within the park was a unique and memorable experience. The sunset cruise on the Orange River was exceptional, offering breathtaking views and a relaxing atmosphere. Our visit to a local grape farm was equally enjoyable and provided a wonderful insight into the region’s agricultural heritage.
