South AfricaAbsolutely everything was perfect. A little gem! We ordered a braaipack in advance. It contained so much more than expected. In addition to the meat, there was roosterkoek, jam, salad, pumpkin fritters and more. The rooms and beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had every utensil we needed and fresh drinkwater was supplied.
The Swartberg Mountains around us were breathtaking. We loved our stay. It was booked for a stay-over location close to the Cango Caves but we will be back for a longer stay at some stage to explore the area further.

If you are looking for an exotic experience right in the heart of the Karoo, look no further than Teri-Lemveli Lodge. This hidden gem turned our long journey into a highlight of our trip.
From the very beginning, Julia was absolutely an incredible host🥰. She was so hospitable and friendly, providing us with every bit of information we could possibly need before we even arrived. Her helpfulness made the planning process completely stress-free.
One of the best surprises was the convenience upon arrival. We were able to purchase everything for a perfect dinner right at their on-site shop. They have a fantastic selection of:
• Braai packs (perfect for a traditional South African fire)
• Savory pies
• Drinks, including a great selection of wines and soft drinks.
The chalets are simply heavenly. They feel incredibly premium, offering a level of comfort that exceeded our expectations. Whether you are planning a family getaway or a trip with a group of friends, the layout and "nice" touches make it feel like a high-end retreat.
A true highlight was the "mini safari" at sunset. Getting to see the animals as the sun went down was a beautiful, unexpected experience that added to the exotic feel of the lodge.
Whether you are looking for a great stopover on your way to Cape Town or Johannesburg, or a destination in its own right, I cannot recommend this lodge enough. It was a true five-star experience from start to finish.

Unreal. We had been travelling for 8 hours and needed a stop off location to break the trip before the next 8 hours. Honestly these guys have their hotel down to a tee. Really brilliant set up. We had just stayed in a five star hotel in Johannesburg before this one and honestly this one was the more comfortable at a fraction of the cost. The check in was genius as we were late, tired and weary - the staff knew this and made it SUPER EASY AND FAST. I could not recommend this place any more.

It is a quiet and safe town, easy to find the lodge and it display the name in all antique furniture, facilities in our room was good, we had a coffee desk with small kettle, air conditioner, shower and efficient plug in points to charge our cell phones and full wifi reception available.
There is a swimming pool overlooking from the dining room and you get served whilst you sit down. Prior time arrangement from reception when you want to have your dinner as well as breakfast for the next morning.

Laingsburg is not a tourist town by any means, but it has petrol stations, especially if one is doing a road trip, and an OK bazaar and liquor shop for food and drink. One can only get to the Wateval Karoo Guesthouse via Laingsburg, so it is a necessary stop. There is a little padstal with wonderful treats and good coffee. Also lovely gifts like rusks, honey, biltong and handicrafts are readily available!

A pretty Klein Karoo town.
A pretty Klein Karoo town. There is the sense, however, that most people don't stay too long as it's located right at the foot of the Prince Alfred Pass, which people rush to go over to their destinations. So, Uniondale is a bit overlooked. Getting around is easy, it's tiny so you can walk everywhere.

Wonderful location, beautiful renovation of old house. Extremely well equipped kitchen and wonderful braai area.
Be aware that the kitchen and braai patio are communal. There is only a kettle and microwave in the bedroom.
The rooms are upstairs, all luggage must be carried up.
Rooms are spartan except for very comfortable bed - no wardrobe, tables, chest of drawers.
Shower is modern, spacious but not hot water.
Beautiful walks on farm, peaceful and extremely restful.
Fan in bedroom, insect repellent, but no heating facilities.

This is a great stop to break up a long trip from the Western Cape to another province. The Karoo lamb dishes were cooked so that the meat fell off the bones. A few nights at this destination would be a great retreat in the Karoo, and we absolutely loved the flowers that we saw in this season.

This was our first time visiting Prince Albert and we can't wait to return. What a stunning little Karoo village. There are wonderful coffee shops and restaurants to visit, we enjoyed walking in the koppie surrounding the town, we cycled to the fig farm, which was a fabulous visit and visiting Gay's dairy farm is an absolute must. I only wish we had stayed longer as there is still so much to do.

Great stop-over place to break the long Karoo drive from Cape Town to Gauteng. It is easy to get around the town and the shops are mostly along the Main road through town. Select a overnight accommodation away from the main roads in the quiter suburbs.

I loved the Karoo nature.
I loved the Karoo nature. The owner welcomed us with delicious homemade bread, butter, and jam, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Firewood, charcoal, and firelighters are also available for purchase on the property.
Our kids were excited to see several wild animals, including monkeys, springbok, and other small wildlife. The views were incredible, the air was cool and refreshing, and the use of rainwater and fully off-grid systems made the stay exactly what we were looking for.
Free Wi-Fi was available, which was very helpful as there is no cell phone reception in the area.

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise...
Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.
