After ten minutes enjoyable trip he showed the old premises of Lord Milner. Thereafter he played the piano in the old pub. Unbelievable guy. We were not satisfied with our room which was a bit gloomy. They gave us an upgrade without extra charge.

From our arrival we felt welcome in the relaxed atmosphere of Dennehof, a restored jewel that welcomes you after being awed by traversing the Swartberg pass.
An afternoon apero was beyond expectation as host Albert surprised us with a wine tip worthy of a true sommelier.
Morning breakfast was an experience they can take pride in. The hosts, Inga and Albert, come over to see how we were, if we needed anything, and if they can suggest sights, add to our itinerary, or facilitate a dinner reservation, which they did both nights seamlessly. Their professionalism strikes the perfect balance between being sensitive to boundaries while maintaining a familiarity that shows they have mastered staying attuned and being present while giving space.
The space is perfectly maintained and harmonises historic elements with contemporary touches.
The feel of the Karoo is present with a nod to local artisans and culture.
The hard work of this charming couple shows fortunate customers where devotion and vision comes together to make one feel at home, as if you are staying with friends, and wanting to stay longer, which I hope to next time.

What an unforgettable stay! Lemoen Fontein has the most incredible atmosphere — as far as the eye can see there are stones, bushes, and a koppie in the background, and then suddenly you arrive at a beautiful old farmhouse surrounded by a lush garden and big trees. It truly feels like an oasis in the middle of the Karoo.
The dogs and cats on the farm made it even more special, and we loved that it is a dog-friendly place.
Dinner was absolutely wonderful — real home-cooked farm food served on a large veranda with the most breathtaking view.
After dinner, a giraffe came right up to the house to eat leaves. It was so close we could almost touch it! An unbelievable and memorable experience — we have never been that close to a giraffe before.
Our room was spotless, comfortable, beautifully furnished, and had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The extra-large bed was extremely comfortable.
We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Lemoen Fontein to anyone looking for a peaceful, unique, and truly special Karoo experience.

Everything was amazing! We stayed for 2 nights as a surprise for my mother's birthday, a party of 7. We were so upset leaving as it was such a pleasant and relaxing stay. We booked the boma for the 2 nights which meant we had a bonfire built for us each night. The game drive was awesome and we saw many animals.

I stayed one night on the way to Cape Town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They have a lovely garden. Dinners are available at the nearby 4 Sheep restaurant.

My interest in Prince Albert peaked from a series filmed...
My interest in Prince Albert peaked from a series filmed there - Recipes for Love and Murder. Unfortunately our stay was over the Christmas break and the town was filled to the brim. A sundowner at the Swartberg Hotel Ladies Bar led to the discovery of this charming Hotel. Dinner across the road at the "Rude Chef" did not disappoint! The owner manager was indeed RUDE and so was the staff member who served us. While the food was good the ambience and service was very poor! Next time I will be sure to book long in advance for dinner reservations at one of the other renowned restaurants.

Trains come through the town, if that is your thing.
2 museums both worth a look.

I loved the Karoo nature.
I loved the Karoo nature. The owner welcomed us with delicious homemade bread, butter, and jam, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Firewood, charcoal, and firelighters are also available for purchase on the property.
Our kids were excited to see several wild animals, including monkeys, springbok, and other small wildlife. The views were incredible, the air was cool and refreshing, and the use of rainwater and fully off-grid systems made the stay exactly what we were looking for.
Free Wi-Fi was available, which was very helpful as there is no cell phone reception in the area.

We always sleep over at Travalia when traveling to Cape Town, it is a welcome rest after a long day on the road. Rooms are great and you can even arrange to have a braai at your chalet, they light the fire and provide meat, salads and "braaibroodjies"

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise...
Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.

Wonderful location, beautiful renovation of old house. Extremely well equipped kitchen and wonderful braai area.
Be aware that the kitchen and braai patio are communal. There is only a kettle and microwave in the bedroom.
The rooms are upstairs, all luggage must be carried up.
Rooms are spartan except for very comfortable bed - no wardrobe, tables, chest of drawers.
Shower is modern, spacious but not hot water.
Beautiful walks on farm, peaceful and extremely restful.
Fan in bedroom, insect repellent, but no heating facilities.

Merweville is a beautiful town! Friendly community. The town is very clean and neat.
The best coffee and breakfast at Die Boekklub with a shop to buy presents for family at home.
There is a nougat factory as well - Karoo Blessings, unfortunately they were closed when we passed through, but we could find their yummy treats at "Die Boekklub" in town.
The Graveyard is well looked after, we visited a family grave and we were very impressed!
Everywhere you drive, people will greet you with a friendly smile! It gives you a warm feeling of caring!

The location is very good The room very Comfortable and neat If you want to stay there without breakfast might be a better idea We paid for breakfast but did not eat.Menu very poor indeed..The owner should make sure all is set in the bedroom before guest arrives .Hand towels are a.must.Toilet rolls are a must.Sugar for tea is a must.and if you pay for breakfast it should be provided.not just scrambled eggs and boerovorce

If you drove through on a quiet day you might think twice, but don’t! Very quiet, quaint town, full of lovely restaurants and very welcoming locals. We stayed 4 days but could have easily stayed a week.
