This place is a step back in time and is amazing. The owners are the some of the nicest people you can ever hope to meet. I arrived on a Sunday during a motorcycle trip through Cape and had managed to get a puncture. It didnt take long for the owner to have the bike in their own workshop wheel off and on it way to being repaired. The hotel is actively involved in the motorcycle scene in the area was soon introduced to other who came to chat Motorcycle travel. What an awesome evening and a great sleep.

The Lord Milner Hotel is situated in the historic village of Matjiesfontein in the Karoo region, just of the N1 highway. This Victorian style hotel features a garden and restaurant.

The hotel is very quaint and has an old world charm. Everything is very tidy and well maintained. The garden and pool was the highlight of our stay, a beautiful green oasis in this karoo town and a stylish set pool. Breakfast on the stoep was great. The staff were friendly.

Having a true karoo experience with JJ looking after all our needs. Great historical site and experienced a beautiful sunrise with rusks and coffee. Best stop in the Karoo and will definitely be back.
