Cony at the front desk was most helpful with a speedy check in process. She also arranged for staff driver Henry to take us to town. Henry provided great commentary and was a great impromptu tour guide. To finish off our server Desire was fantastic.

The location, the room, and the people. It’s a beautiful property. I was across from a banana tree and beside the local birds hangout so they sang to me at sunset.

My stay at Emerald was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. This hotel truly delivers excellence in hospitality, comfort, and professionalism. From the moment I landed, I was warmly welcomed with a smooth airport pickup service in a very clean and comfortable car. The driver was punctual, polite, and professional, which immediately set the tone for a stress-free and pleasant experience. After a long flight, that level of care makes all the difference. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by a very friendly and professional receptionist (Oaitse) who made check-in quick and effortless. The staff throughout my stay were incredibly warm, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their hospitality made me feel valued and genuinely welcomed. The room was exceptionally neat, spacious, and beautifully arranged. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the entire space felt peaceful and relaxing. It was clear that great attention is given to cleanliness and guest comfort. The room also had excellent lighting, good air conditioning, and a calm atmosphere perfect for both rest and work. Breakfast was another highlight of my stay. The food was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. From hot dishes to fresh fruits and beverages, everything was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. It was the perfect way to start my day. The hotel environment is calm, secure, and well-managed. The ambiance is elegant yet comfortable, making it suitable for business travelers, couples, families, and tourists alike. The overall service quality, cleanliness, and professionalism truly stand out. Emerald Hotel Gaborone exceeded my expectations in every way. The airport transfer, outstanding customer service, spacious rooms, and excellent breakfast make it a top choice in Gaborone. I will definitely be returning. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay memorable and exceptional. It's a wow experience.

Motswiri exceeded expectations. The main lodge bar and dining area were beautiful and welcoming. We stayed in the family villa and it was so comfortable, well decorated, great spot to see animals walking to the water hole. Staff is so friendly. We loved riding with Barry - great animal spotter and tracker, very informative and engaging, and so fun to spend time with. A big thank you to Petunia in the main lodge for always engaging with the kids when we returned from drive! and for the great massage! In the reservations team, Tammy was amazing! And of course, Bill - who has great stories to share about drives!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic and what a beautifil place! The staff were exceptional — they know every guest so well and treat you in such a personal and thoughtful way. From arrival to departure, they make every night feel like a fairytale. The small heated pools at each house were very cozy, and the shared pool was beautiful. Everything is perfectly arranged for the guests. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone! Deen, our ranger, did an amazing job making sure we saw everything we wanted and more. He also had great stories for everything we saw, which made the experience even more special.

It was exclusive, personal & attentive staff. The watering hole next to the resort is a game changer! It's like a game drive, but lying down while enjoying a beer! Amazing experience! And they also have an underground hide to see the animals upclose! The food was exquisite & they made sure to meet our requests, especially since I'm a pescetarian. We had a pleasant surprise at night to have hit water bottles in bed! And during the game drive's too! It was cold, but the blankets were warm and comforting. Really enjoyed the evening dinner by the camp fire, what a lovely touch!

Amazing experience. Very intimate small lodge with an authentic feel. Food was superb. Staff and service were wonderful. Twice daily game drives were incredible. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and worked hard to make sure we had the best experience and were lucky to see all the Mag 7 the park has to offer. You will not be disappointed!

The location is very remote and there were tons of animals all around the lodge. We loved the elephants that came to the watering hole each day. The service, food, accommodation, game drives were all excellent and exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go back!

Madikwe Game Reserve is, without a doubt, my favourite game reserve. The breathtaking landscapes are unlike anywhere else, with a beautiful mix of open plains, rocky outcrops, and lush bushveld that make every game drive a feast for the eyes. The wildlife is simply incredible, and Madikwe never disappoints. Every visit brings unforgettable sightings and unique experiences, making each trip feel as special as the first. Whether it's the Big Five, endangered wild dogs, or the abundance of birdlife, there is always something amazing to see. What keeps me coming back is the consistency of the experience. Madikwe combines spectacular scenery, exceptional wildlife, and a true sense of wilderness that is hard to match. It is a place that captures your heart, and I can't wait to return again and again.

Not a big town but since I was going to the villages I enjoyed a lot of open land driving and walking. The district is very big though. Although the name is fancy is not that upmarket town. Is a very welcoming town where everyone just fit in. I like the mixture of town and village setup.

Difficult and bumpy road to get there when you cannot locate the proper route to Madikwe River lodge but the magic unravels as soon as you get close : the animals, the vegetation and one lonely but warm lady at the post who welcomes you to adventure! Blissfully peaceful, Matildah gazing at you while the other impalas peer from the bushes, one cheeky monkey sitting on the roof while the invisible chirping and singing lull you to quietude, right next to the river. The lady at the reception readily informed the Chef about my meal preferences and I was served fish, veggies and rice for dinner. The morning safari was conducted by a guide who read the tracks in Nature and drove us to a cheetah, a napping lion, a rising rhino, munching wildebeests and 3 black rhinos not happy at visitors for disturbing their early morn routine ;), and another napping lion! We looked fondly at the baby elephant and had to be careful when a big male elephant "in mas" came our way. It was one beautiful experience.

Zeerust used to be a town you just travel through to get to our destination. Since the new mall Autumn Leaf and a few other new establishments we have found the town more inviting. There is actually more to Zeerust than the main road and grabbing a bite to eat at the wimpy.

This reserve only allows visitors that stay in one of the lodges so their are no day tours. The guides all work together so they give eachother locations of animals they’ve spotted but than they go in turns to the animal so they don’t get overwhelmed by a traffic jam of tourists.
